Totally amazing to see something with all the detail that it has . I have to say the driver had bigger balls than I have ever had to drive something like that at that kind of speed !
Thanks for all the great shots and hope to read more about it .

Now that's what I call a great way to spend your retirement. You seem to latch on to some genuine hot rodders down your way. Thanks for the pics and the coverage of a totally kool build.

Great stuff thanks for letting us look over your shoulder. Now I've seen how someone with some REAL talent builds a car,as opposed to what I do. ( I don't know how someone with enough balls to drive that thing that fast gets his legs close enough to get in it!)

Wow! It's great to see what's under the skin. I saw the car at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance today and it is top notch. Congratulations to Frank and all involved.

someone posted the winners in another thread from IRISH. Frank's name wasn't mentioned.........but I don't think Frank cares......afterall, who here in Maryland ( or anywhere for that matter ) has a car that was on the grass at Pebble Beach . Frank can think about that while driving the Bell Super Coupe to the 7-11 for coffee in the morning........

stolen from IRISH's post...entered by JimmyB

1st place was Eddie Miller Jnr lakester
2nd place was Chet Herbert Beast 3
3rd place was Williams Bros. Roadster

  9. I scored a couple flatheads a while back, this is giving me BAD ideas for my T...

  10. Is the trans connected directly to the read axle? Any details on how the rear suspension works?

A shame it was at Pebble Beach this weekend and not at Bonneville running.

I was going through some old pictures files on my computer and found some pictures taken during the restoration process. At the time, there were some details that Frank didn't want shown. Since Pebble Beach 2010 was a year ago, I decided to add these pictures to the original post..........enjoy

Thanks for posting. Very inspiring and neat! There's just so much cool history in this hobby and to see it brought back like this is super cool.

I like the last pic with the Huggies in it, I can see why Frank didn't want them shown, with that duck under rollbar, I think those huggies would come in handy at top end if it got squirrely on the flats. Thanks for updating the thread, that had to be a fun project to be involved with. Scott

I thought I would drag this back around again. It has been a couple of years since the last pass around the board.

For those of you who got to go to the Hot Rod Magazine 65th Anniversary show, you got to see Frank Morawski's Carrillo Roadster at the show. I understand from Frank that the show was simply unbelieveable.
According to the Hot Rod magazine fb page, The roadster is being photographed for a multi page spread in an upcoming issue of Hot Rod.

Big Whip !!!!! right ? If you go back and go through this entire thread and see how the founders of hot rod did it, you too will say.........Yep !! Big Whip !!!

Getting to lay hands on during the restoration of the car was over the top !!!!!!

Since this got brought to the top and saw the question about how the suspension works with the rear directly fitted to the trans I thought I'd point out to him that the drivetrain is mounted to the trailing arms. So when the suspension moves it ALL moves! Wow haha. I guess that's one way around not wanting a rigid rear in your no driveshaft car

  22. Saw it at Pomona this past weekend - detail work and finish was flawless!

I thought this should come around again. I just got home from the garage this afternoon. I checked my mail and there it was................The New Hot Rod Magazine. Normally, Camaro / Mustang digest, is not met with happiness. Today is different. The Carrillo Roadster is back on the cover.....last time was 1952. And someone did a great job telling the story.
If you haven't been through this thread in while, you just might enjoy seeing this classic piece of hot rodding history NAKED !!!!!!!

There you are...........I said it.... The Carrillo Roadster naked

Congrats to Frank Morawski for saving this piece of history. And thanks for lettimg me hang out and help a little.
