    And... without the model obscuring the lines of the car.

    Great pics, good turnout of HAMB friendly cars and trucks.

    Also had the pleasure of meeting Mr. @Dave Gray
    The owner of this car that
    @loveoftiki posted.
    Told you I'm bad with names.
    Walked right up to him ready to shake his hand...
    "Dan Gray!"
    He said, "DAVE Gray".
    And I'm an idiot. Fuck.
    Nice to meet you and see your car, Dave. LOL

    Thanks for starting the thread,
    @Stock Racer

    Glad I went. Even though there weren't quite as many cars this year. And I'm not really a big car show guy. I figured out a long time ago, I can quickly get tired of looking at other people's cars. But I just needed to breathe the air, you know. Get a little bit of inspiration. And a day just for me.
    And I did.

    @Rickybop I agree 100%.
    The Basement is so cool, Gene, the Tarantula's, cool people and cars. Always pumps me up to get going on my stuff

    Is the lighting there as distracting in person as it is in the photos? It kind of drives my eyes nuts seeing all the polka dots on the cars.:(

  12. I didn’t get to snap a Pic of this…but it brings a tear to my eye…my old Buddy Mike Gator Gaydos Bat Tribute Pedal Car..he built this in his garage many years ago as a tribute to one of his favorite Kustom builders and Fellow Downriver Legend, Mr Bill Hines. Well as some May know Bill would drive back to Michigan in the Summer to visit family, last time was in his Bat Riv..well on the trip back he brought some paint and he and Gator finished it up in the garage. It sat in Gators living room until his passing, got beat up a bit, but his Son Mick wanted to get it back to hits former glory and did a fantastic job, the scallops were a needed adjustment due to a mishap with the front end and the candy laquer was pretty tough to hit..I like to think Gator and Bill were among the crowd this weekend..

    I've heard people complain about the lighting at indoor car shows before. But I'm trying to imagine an indoor car show without overhead lights. Hope you'll be okay.

    Does anyone know who the organizer is of the basement portion of the show?

  16. I really like this car
    But with the TT wheels, no chop and the R&P top.
    It needs a sbc with 2x4’s or 4x2’s IMO

    It is one of those rare exceptions where the matte and flat cars look better than the glossy ones.

    i see the white spotted paint jobs were all the rage upstairs this year

  20. Maybe I am just too jaded or numb to it all anymore but looking through the various indoor show coverages, including our local one just does not excite me. I see very little creativity these days.

    Back in the day it was a grid of fluorescent lights. Sure did separate the finishers from the posers...:eek:

    I figured that one had a serious chance of winning. As nice as some of the others were it had enough tricks to impress the judges even if the majority of us don't care for most of those tricks in the least.

    It's been that way at most every indoor show that I have ever been at, I've taken a ton of photos at indoor shows in the past 40 years and it is hard to get any of shiny cars that you don't see the reflection of the lights in. The exception is halls that are so dark that you can't get decent photos.
