Who's goin'? Who's "showin'"? How many trad rods will be there (from here or otherwise), and where will they be (downstairs?) and where can I get a schedule of events? I gotta go to a thing with the wife that same weekend, and I'm 3 hours away, but I will find a way to get there if I can - I just don't want to show up Sunday only to have trailer queens to look at... I'm DYING to see some rods - it feels like summer will never come!
Hot Rod Drummer is bringin his dad's 32 tudor "REGRET" and i'll be drivin their 52 Ford shop truck (Ionia Hot Rod Shop). they'll both be driven the two hours to the show. both are real neat old cars and neither is shiny. REGRET has some real racin history but i'll let HRD tell you about that. there will be lots of other HAMBers and HAMB rides there aswell. come to the ba*****t for all the HAMB style rides.

Not a traditional car in the sense that it has been re-done exactly as it was back then,but the Golden Nugget(a 34 cabriolet channeled with molded-in fenders highly modified and a EARLY nailhead with 3-2's)that was featured in several small books in the 50's will be there. I did a sign for it a couple weeks ago and yesterday went over to letter the name back on the front fenders(as close to the original as possible)so they could re-install them. Neat car with a lot of Michigan history.I'm sure several of our,"chronologically-challenged" GMB's will remember it.
Ray, we built a new ch***is for that car!! Car was built in '52 by Bill Hines for Marty Rivets (last name may be spelt wrong). Shown in the first Detroit autorama. It was an honor to be a part of its resurrection

Can't say I'll be there with a ride (mine doesn't quite fit the criteria) but I'll be there none the less to enjoy a great time with some good ol HAMB folk............I guess I could bring the beer! .............Will there be HAMB get together on the Thur. night like last year?

I'll be there wandering around. Sounds like there will be a more concentrated and organized traditional rod presence this time. I'm interested to see the juxtaposition of the HAMBers and the "tuners" inhabiting the ba*****t together. I hope their Ludacris doesn't drown out the rockabilly.
If you have someone going with a car have em fill it with beer or your gonna have to buy it there. A pint or fifth can be sneaked in under your coat but dont plan on bringing in a cooler. They were *****s last year when we had the 32 there. I did sneak in a fifth of gin and some tonic with help from the wife and partied all day saturday. She still says I started drinking at 9 am but I swear it was at least 9:15 They sent people back to thier cars with coolers even though they were there with show cars.. They want to make every dime they can on liquor sales and also the laws state if you have a liquor license to sell booze you cant let people bring thier own in. It can be done though. Ill be there saturday and although im new (again) to the HAMB board ill try and meet all the Hambers I can.. If anyone needs help with setup and has an extra p*** id be more than willing to help out. Just let me know what day and your time and I can meet you . Im about an hour or maybe a little from Cobo and would be more than happy to help. After doing it last year and not wanting to do it again for a while I really found that setup was the most fun. Pm me if I can help. Also If your comming from the west down I 94 Im in Jackson right off the eway at the 145 mile marker. Depending on when your comming and what kind of trailer you have or dont have and the weather conditions Ive got room in the garage if you need to do some cleaning before the hour ride to cobo . Dave- Since the Autorama guys came here and invited us to the exhibition, it may not have been a brilliant maneuver to post your opinions and techniques...but hey, you're new. Anyway- I'll be there with the staffers in full force to represent the Club/Mag. Denise is threatenting some kind of crazy shindig, and I hope to see her post details here soon. I'm sure she's probably got flyers printed for the live bands and gourmet Coney cookers she's got showing up. She's probably going to have strippers too. I don't know. It's all rumors right now and I don't know how these things get started, but we'll be there to see what happens. We'll have cameras... We need nametags. I need to know who I'm speaking with. I will probably be there Thursday afternoon, and Friday for sure (not showing a car), I am not sure who will be with me, but I ***ure you that I will not need a name tag... just look for the fat **** in the crowd.

Yes, Scotch is correct. There will be a Saturday nite HAMB sausage-fest at my place. Everyone is welcome especially dudes with midget ****, transves***es with swings and nakeed twister lovers. The disco music will start after 7pm and if you boys get chilly you know where the fur coats are hanging. I'm 15 minutes from Cobo Hall. More details to follow. It's actually really funny... The security workers see me coming and say "Boy, this is gonna be fun...", and then I walk through the metal detector and nothing happens. They usually have me walk through 3 or 4 times, and then call a technician to look at the machine. High quality body jewelry is non magnetic, so it won't set off the metal detectors.
Between 3 and 10 of us will be making the trek up/over there. We got a room Friday night and plan on scamming much beer on Saturday at the show. Mike
