Hey Kustom, do you know who's 30-31 Tudor in baremetal with the red front wheels that is? I would like to see the front axle set up on it. Thanks.

i noticed one of the (supposedly daily-driven) trophy winning cars being loaded on a trailer about a quarter mile from the fairgrounds when i was on my way out. i was pretty disappointed. maybe they had a good reason...

if you guys are talking about rudy and race's 32 sedan then that was due to the fact the car was driven around the block for the first time the night before and didnt have a windsheild or any tags plates or insurance. Not a big deal just making the smart move to not risk the car and still have fun with it there. as they were cruising around a bunch all day with it. the thing will be daily driven by the end of the week trust me. If there were any others doing that then i cant say what that deal was about but like i said they had good reason to do so with the 32 and you all werent suppose to see that any way:p :D

DirtyT has the fact somewhat straight but not exactly. It was 17 year old Tony's "Best of Show" winner that had to be towed home, WAS DRIVEN THERE, but the clutch went out. Race drove the sedan the 60 miles home very carfully so Tony could get his ride home safely as well. Kudos to that whole bunch of friends for helping each other out.

Here's the last of my photos, a couple more cars and some stuff.

  7. Yeah we did haul the 32 sedan there, but we did ended up driving it home, About 60 miles with no windshiled! The Award winner that got towed home had good reason, the clutch blew and wasn't going anywhere under its own power.

I've got nothing to be ashamed of. You people would be real surprised to know of some of your "Rulers" that have hauled there cars to shows. I have more cl*** to name names here, and don't think it really matters anyway.

Anytime you want to follow me 500 miles in the rain in my roadster just call me :D

Just so you guys know... my car overheated on the way home (plugged radiator).
I REFUSED to let it on a trailer (Thanks for the offer anyway Bill!).
It took me 3 hours to get the 50 miles back home (go about 5 miles, wait 20 minutes; repeat...)

    If the clutch took a **** (in my th350!:D ), I'd have flat-towed it. (of course, I don't even own a trailer! )

I've got a few photos to share but first I'd like to say "THANKS" to all those that I had a chance to spend time with this past weekend, especially those that stayed here at the house. The cars are nice but it's the people that make the time we spend together so special.

Roadstar and Race, father and son, with their 32 Sedan's "Best Hot Rod" trophy. Race did most of the buildup in the two weeks prior to the show with none of the parts on the car newer then '57 with the exception of belts and hoses. Congrats guys!

62Wagon is a gl***guy, and quickly pointed out that the code on the widshield had "FC" as part of the part number...which stands for "Foriegn Car".

I looked at the side gl***, and it said "Honda"...someone mentioned a name I can't remember but looking at a 2001 Prelude on traderonline.com, I think that's the one.

I thought his engineering was cool, but I agree, billet+Honda=shouldn't have been there...

I'll catch up with ya the next round, Airkooled...or, you can stop by sometime since you're so far away. :D

Round the corner from me??? D-town boarder? Can I ***ume then that you perhaps live in Redford? Come join us at one of the local cruz nites. Tonight we had 6 HAMBers in attendance with the highlite being StinkyFinger showing up with his ride, which he just got on the road this week. All and all a very nice nite out with the guys.

If you pm me with your email address I'll send you the full resolution of all the photos I took of Brandon in the car.

i spoke with the guy whop owned the car. real nice guy. he said the entire roof was off a Toyota Celica. i did'nt ask what year. there was a pic of the car in Hot Rod magazine a while back. in a "Garage Scene" type article. i think it's a neat car but definatley not Billet Proof material. i asked him how he got it in and he said it did take some persauding. then we joked about how persausive his friend George Washington was. i think once he got into the show and looked around he realized why they questioned letting him in. it was the only car i saw that "sliped through the cracks" as far as i'm concerned, so it's not realy worth raisin a fuss over.

just for the record. those wheels (Torque Thrust IIs) were'nt billet. they are a cast center in a stamped (or forged or something) hoop. but you proly knew that, and i know what you ment. not Billet Proof material either way.

i heard one guy who had his car turned away *****in and carying on when he started walking around the show and saw the set of Weld Racing 5 spokes on that red and flamed coupe. he was saying "they let that car in and it has nice wheels". he *****ed and cried for a few minutes about it and said to his friends that they were leaving because the show and it's rules were such ********. ****o and i just laughed. i concidered, for a second, explaining it to him, but then i figured it would'nt do any good anyway. he just did'nt get it, or more importantly,he did'nt RESPECT it! i don't know what kind of car or what "wheels" he had that they would'nt let him in. it's a niche show. you would'nt expect to get your 32 Ford into an all Import show so why would you expect to get your Street Rod/ Muscle Car/ Mini truck into a down and dirty traditional hot rod show? my taste goes to all types of automobiles and several different styles and i can appreciate a job well done on ALMOST anything, but what is so hard for people to understand about "traditional style ONLY"???

WOW!! thats the most i've said on here in a month. i'm still buzzin from the primer fumes. i've been workin on minitruck parts all day and night  :D ...
