What a time had by all........All the late crazy hours where well worth it ! Met so many new people I do not dare list the names, for I am afraid I will miss someone,Everyone was great.............Their was too much Kool stuff in the lower level..it is the neatest to walk around and study everyones neat ideas and see the contrast between the cars.........Unkl Ian.....thanks for taking the time to give me a crash course in striping, hope to send a pic to you soon of my first attempt..Thanks for all the fun Danger Danger crew........I fought that large blow up balloon in the front lobby and kicked its ***, it was my height after I was done with it........He he........We all ate dinner with Foose and Charlie the painter two nights in a row.that was kool...they are good people...........Foose say's I should chop my car.........Sir Brush is a Ruler...Thanks..........Glad my wife came up for a visit on Sat. and got to meet some of you..........I think my step father would have liked the car, he would have thought I was nuts! But would have said good job........A big thanks goes to Barnett, for the 60's show card he painted for me!!! You did a great job on it..................I cannot thank you enough, you put alot of thought into it.......I am still tired and am taking a short break from building, going to clean and attempt to organize some of the garage, it has become a real mess since I started the mad thrash since last October.........Boy I just met and saw and talked to so many people it blows my mind...........................Friday was kool.talking and explaining to all the Detroit area high school kids that invaded the autorama...........They all loved the gas pedal on the wrong side.........I think the plan will be to finish DeathsDoorStep and return next year..............And I do not want to forget about saying thanks to all that put on that event.........and Josh Shaw for all of his work and involment making all those awards.insane work........Thanks Littleman
It was nice to meet you littleman and the rest of you guy's, would have liked to talk with you guy's a little more but after being at cobo overnight every night I was a little spent on sunday morning and never really got to walk the show,........ I hope you all had a great time.
My pleasure Littleman, you are always more than welcome at any of our events.Any questions, just ask, and don't forget Rays' Yahoo group: http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/pinstriperspage/ I'm so glad you got to spend some time with Chip, that was the highlight of my last trip to Lead East. Hanging out and painting with Chip until 5:30 am. And he CAN paint. His panel went for more than any other in the auction that year. And this was before he was on TV. Most people have NO idea how talented he is.
.........Dave, sorry I didn't make it this year. The photo of Foose smiling behind the wheel of DDS is priceless! I have taken a few shots of "Posie" talking with Clark "SoWhat" Bates at the open house and really value them. It is the mutual respect between the "big names" and the "little guys" (certainly no stature reference) that thrills me. Having a guy with Chip's current fame take the time to appreciate your efforts is pretty neat. From meeting you last year, I realize that this is no ego trip for you........it's just nice to be appreciated!
Dear Littleman, Thank you for starting your hemi... that was the CLIMAX of my trip. You RULE. Thanks for letting me stay with you and Curator in the FIRE ALARM hotel. That blow-up doll never had a chance. Tuck ps... , its 3:53AM on TUESDAY MORNING. I made it home safe... Time for bed... You will be a striper with a brush... or a stripper with that car-- or in the car??? I need sleep...
Good to see top builders hanging with top builders...*****ing is for amateurs. Glad you enjoyed yourself Littleman... MAI
As far as I can tell, Littleman's car is one of if not the most inspiring cars on the HAMB. Everytime I see it I want to go out to my own garage and do more on my own car. I wanted to build my car all by myself without sourcing anything out and he's living proof that it can be done. And done very well. To steal a Jack Nicholson movie line with a twist - 'It makes me want to be a better builder' Littleman, you're the best... Thanks for continually sharing. Vance
I took 44 pictures of Deaths Doorstep. I wanted to say hi, but someone was talking your ear off the whole time. The next 4 times I came by, no one was there. I watched Troy Trepanier looking over your car and writing stuff down. I ***umed he was 'gathering ideas' or giving you an award... congrats on that one. Maybe I'll get to take some cool artsy shots at the HAMB Drags...
Littleman, Always great to see you. I am glad you found a sponsor for your race car. Thanks for the hugs! I would like to thank the fine citizens of Detroit for: Stealing my floor jack out of my trailer Stealing the leather bomber jacket from the Ionia guys Stealing the mirrors off of Moriarity's truck Stealing Fritz's Poster out of his striped trash can and taking the liberty to fill it with half eaten sausages and cups, even though it had all of his new T-shirts in it. My truck broke down on Sunday, had to fix that. Brian's truck broke down on Monday. Other than that I had a great time. I watched Matt's drunken public relations, that ruled. Junior, Mikey, and Clark made friends with the Emperors display. Dave Shuten striped the lander. Fay Butler enjoyed himself again this year. And all the hot tuner *****s were great.
Sorry you guys got stuff taken and screwed with. I'm near Ann Arbor and the **** is moving this way too. Littlemans car is just the cats ***. Plowboy, I tried looking you up to meet you, but you were not around. Oh well maybe another time. I am really impressed with your work also. You guys really were important in making this a good show. And not just you guys, everyone that was involved! (especially the dirtyt and fat hack girlly show). I may even try this again next year for the giggles! I have to be carefull tho I got some bad ice in the hotel bar. He He. Don
I wasn't too hard to find. Especially on Saturday. I wan't moving too fast, I ate about 15 bucks worth of White Castle on Friday night......and then puked it all up. A young dude named Elliot was roaming the ba*****t drawing pics of the cars. Here he is doing the lander, he even gave me the pic. Pat Ganahl came by to check out the lander. I think this means that it stinks. Ha Ha Ha Clark and his new friends. Bob K....Like we didn't know.
Detroit was a blast as expected. It was good to meet and talk with a lot of you. I was even more impressed by Death's Door step in person and look forward to seeing more of it around Ohio. The Lunar lander was the bee's knees as expected. It was great fun just to stand by it and listen to people's comments and thoughts. I never ran into you though Plowboy to congratulate you. Someone pointed you out at a distance to me at the meet and greet and then you were gone. I did as promised and attended with Lunar Lander blue nails...but you never got to see them, so here they are.... (you can't tell, but they're flaked too!) All in all a good time was had by all. I'm sure we'll all be back next year. Hope I have something done to stick in the ba*****t......
hey littleman, do you realize you may have just influenced one of the greatest car builders alive today?... think about that... good job as always! tred.
You never know..................We all inspire each other in many ways. From the construction of a build to our different techniques to the homemade tools and tooling all the way to how our garages are set up.You just can pull inspiration from just about everywhere.......Even the guy or gal that has been working on the same car for ever and has a long way to go, and find themselves bogged down with progress because of family or money issues and lack of time, but they just keep chuggin away........Thats inspirational too..or atleast to me.........thats focus and one hell of a drive to hang on and alot of patience to boot...Hell everytime the cops pull me over. Iam inspired to figure out how I can make my hotrod just alittle more faster..he hee.....and thats the truth........................Littleman
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA..............I didnt think you were serious when you said you ordered the Liberace standup.
Not sure if it was the locals, but I feel your pain. Never lost anything at an event before, ever. Now two in a row for Autorama. And my stuff disappeared well after the show was "closed". That is the part that pisses me off. Glad you guys made it,the car looks amazing.
well plowboy, I can't bring your jack back, but we did find Norm (the shifter knob) and we got a call from our customer and he wore the jacket home..... so much crazyness and so many people, it gets really hard to keep your finger on everything.... The heart attack I almost had was almost justified, but thankfully both were unwarrented.. I had a great time (as always) and it was great to see all my out of state friends again, sorry I didn't get to spend more time with the majority of you... And now I have a goal to get my car done for next year...and the showdown.. Take care, HRD
Sorry to hear you guys had stuff ripped off. ****ers. Very cool pic Littleman. I hear you got offered a job. Chicagoland is fun.
I was there on saturday. I got to meet Magnet, who gave me some pile up swag. Thanks again. Check out the *****in' es*** at the Peak both also. It was cool to see all the Roth cars. Very unique. The Ionia roadster is definitely awesome. Looks great in pics and even better in real life. Good job. Littleman = Ruler. It was cool to see all the HAMB cars there. Hopefully next year, I will have a car there too. I bought all 3 MFS dvds also. Already watched all of them. They kick ***! Also met Bob Bleed and Tuck and was given a genuine Canadian quarter from Tuck. I will cherish it forever!
Littleman, I thoroughly enjoyed talking to you and so did my dad. He really really digs your stuff....well so do I. Hotroddrummer, Is your heart ok? I did not mean to break it, its just that we live too far away to be together. haha (Ionia customers-he's straight, don't worry) Im glad you have a goal to have your car there. I have a goal for myself to have a different car there next year. If i can do it, i know you can, im the laziest person ever. Petey, sorry we missed each other man. Next year dude, next year! Danger Danger Crue- always fun to hang out with. Especially cute little jonny cola. CheaterMikes car makes me weak. Ummm, Emperors rule. "The Boy" is my hero. He gets more chicks than ill ever be able to. So-What guys, Clark, Jr., Fire Alarm Mikey, Scarry Larry..... Nightmares CC Flathead Pete is rad. Koffin Kickers.... Marcy!!!!! And of course my bestest friends Lobrow and Tara, Plowboy, and Denise. and Rudy Wow, so many people I met and saw....I love you all! Littleman, Im sorry. I did not mean to hi-jack your thread. I just didn't think it was necissary for me to start a new thread for my own. I guess I should have.
So sweetheart, did you leave me you bedpillow as a souviner of your visit?? I can certainly understand you wanting me to rest my head every nite on YOUR pillow BUT I haven't been able to figure out the significance of you wanting me to have your phone charger???
