Beautiful. All of it. Do you mind sharing specifically what the color is? Graphite? It really captures an aged magnesium look. Thanks!
It's called "Antique Bronze". When I got them back, I didn't like them. They had too much of a shine, and had gold flecks in them. I then gl*** beaded them @ 20psi to get this look. They can now be 'cleaned up' with red 3M Scotchbrite pads.
Faux magnesium.... Man...you coulda saved a few bucks just spraying them with dry graphite lubricant....haha
Thanks What's the finish on the covers - bead blasted and then cleared? Love the fined theme you have going on there!
The cover for the fuel rails was made by Ron Gagnon, of New England Rod Shop, who's building the car. All of the engine pieces are powder coated in Silver Gray wrinkle finish.
Alex, have you been up to see this thing run yet? Finally got her going on Saturday... Needless to say Ron was all smiles!
I like it a lot. Question: When you have wheels powder coated, don't the edges of the rim get scratched from mounting the tires? Or, is powder coating that strong that it won't peel or scuff? If it scuffs, how do you touch it up?
i watched this thing get built over at ron's place. unreal craftsmanship. i'd stop in every couple months just to see whats going on with it. i don't know how many of us have that kind of budget. your a lucky guy.
