Is anyone planning to go to the Deuce 75th anniversary celebration at the Peterson Museum? I am (??) planning to drive out from Indiana in my cabriolet. Yesterday I downloaded an entry application and now I have second thoughts. Is this going to turn into a rich guy, showing his Tupperware 32 Boydster that he bought 6 months ago getting center stage, and us little guys that built out cars ourselves have to park our cars over by the porta-pots or the dumpster. You get the idea. The $32 entry fee is not too bad, neither is the $50 per person bus ride to the different shops and collections. But I question the $85 per person "Legends Dinner", and the $100 per person "Gala Celebration Concert". I hate to drive all the way out there in the middle of winter and not be part of it all. Does anyone have any info on this? Is it going to be worth the drive? Where is the money going for this? Or is it another promotion company trying to make money of the gullible hot rod guys again, say Deuce and one time event and they will pay it?
Sounds like a cool once in a life time thing to me. Pick and chose your poison. Don't own a tie, can't set long enough for a concert, not impressed by fancey food, BUT the shop tour and other events maybe worth doing. Good luck...H
Somebody has to be going!! Where should I stay? After thinking it over I am going to go. Like the TV show "20 Good Years" thats where I fit in. I am 57 and if I don't it now I never will. I am taking the Muncie out and putting in a T5 5speed. Need to find a speedo that drives off of the driveshaft, but I haven't had a speedometer for 8 years so I probably don't need one now. I can use the tach. I am going to insulate it a little more so the quickchange doesn't make me go deaf. Maybe put in a radio/CD. I have the F2 front backing plates ready to go on so I can get rid of the early Ford's. I would like to repaint it, but that won't happen. Anyone else going??
