Hi guys just thought I'd throw this out there to see if anyone could possibly help, saw the post on the new Deuce book for sale by the Petersen Museum and thought my missus could get it for my upcoming birthday, but on checking out their site I find its $128 shipping to get it to Scotland UK, and I'll be damned if I'm going to pay that for a $40 book (who said Scotsmen are tight), so just wondered if any of you guys (in LA) could find a more reasonable cost of shipping and would be willing to purchase the book and send it on to me (obviously I'd be reimbursing you). It would make a great addition to my collection of deuce books so many thanks in anticipation.

Postage out of the US is nuts these days. If the book is remotely heavy - and quite possibly is - the cost doesn't surprise me.

It's $81 to me. They use Fedex, not post.

    And no, I wouldn't pay $81 for a $40 book. Which makes it a $121 book.

USPS media rates are really cheap. I would hope international rates are too.

According to USPS. a 2-4 pound package is $41.50. You're in group 5 for First Cl*** International.

    That's about what I'd guess.
I got a CD (yes, a CD) from the US yesterday and postage was USD$21.95, or $29.00 AUD. I think that's as cheap as it gets.

Wasn't always so crazy, but it's spun out of control in the past 5 years or so.

    You think that is bad??
My calendar is shipped and I lose money on the shipping... going to Australia is about $22.00 and going to the poor souls stuck in Canada around $14.00 for one calendar,,, yes I ship PRIORTY to get them to the customer quick, but this could be the last year, but I hate for them to sit at the PO for weeks,,,
