Do anyone have any good ideas how to put 39 pedals clutch and brake into an original deuce frame, the angle seem not to be ok Thanks
Didn't Brian B*** use a 39 K member with 39 pedals in a 32 frame? If I remember right it looked really good....but all B*** stuff looks good!
Not an answer to your question but thought you might find it interesting to see how I set up my AVATAR. It uses the original '32 pedals and a bracket to hold the master cylinder. The bracket is welded to a plate that bolts to the crossmember. I don't remember drilling any extra holes or welding on the vehicle. I made the leverage on the linkage match the leverage on a '39 pedal ***embly. The master cylinder fills through the original hole for the battery. I moved the battery to the right side but with todays smaller batteries I might choose a different location. Charlie Stephens
Yes, do that and take a look at the hydraulic brake conversion kit from the Early V8 Garage. They make kits that doesn't require any cutting, welding or even drilling. Here's a link to their website: http://www.earlyv8garage.net/
Another way to think about it to use '32 pedals and the brake actuator mounted behind the K as linkage to activate a rod in a master cylinder mounted behind the K. If I get under my car, I'll take a pict of the similar set we used to do.
I think I saw some time ago, the hot deal was a 39 Ford pickup crossmember with pedal ***embly grafted into the 32 frame.
First Bishop/Tardell AV8 book has some info on using '39 pedals with a '32 K-member, however if The Lacys' produce such a kit it will be well worth the time saved and money spent...
Why do that when a set of original pedals works great. Reweld lever to bottom of pedal mount a master cyl adapter to bottom of k. Very clean and neat.
