Actually the current interior and exterior of your sedan go pretty much hand in hand. Then again you could always go with imitation wood grain paneling and some kind of vinyl leatherette. Google "traditional 32 Ford interiors" and hit images, many to see. ; )
The last paint job was done in 1962 by the original owners son when he drove it to Riverside Military Academy and the car really doesn't have a interior. And No,no paneling,I did that back in the 70's when the Van craze was at it's pinnacle. HRP
There's some machine pleated vinyl available that would be a step up from what you have now, but not too big a step. I think it's similar to what JC Whitney used to carry in the '60's. (I've used the new stuff but don't have any of the old to actually compare it with.). 60's style might make it semi-traditional. http://www.garysupholstery.com/foamback.html
If your going to try to do it your self, that sew tech I did a few years back may help with some ideas. If you just can't find chrome striping, and really like the look, maybe some of the stick-on plastic chrome ,like door edge or fender trim, could be used, some is even thick enough that some very small screws coming in from the back could work to be sure glue on them don't fail. Danny, how about this stuff - distressed leather. It's actually a little darker than this; it was a bright day at LARS. This is what I'm planning to use in my sedan. The car is from your neck of the woods.
Not fancy, but in keeping with the rest of the car. Cut down vintage woven seat covers. A VERY *****in' Tudor.
Well Danny, you didnt get near as many replies as you did on the "Who has a 32" thread....Apparently you aint the only one with an interior that needs replacing. Free morning bump for ya, hope you get some more pics, so we can all look at them.
HRP, go to my albums, 32 Ford, Volvo buckets, went for 60's tuck and roll, used marine grade vinyl, seat inserts w/ perforations so it breathes. I' m very happy w/ comfort and look of interior, might be a little too street rod for you, as you are a old school purist type I believe. Enjoy your new interior, what ever you decide.
Very sharp, I am very partial to this style. Great choice of colour plus the combo with garnish moulds, dash and steering looks the part. No arm rests for me though.
