You lost me there Steve :)... What are you referring to? "recovery tank"... Are you talking about the sediment glass bowl I got from the UK?

I believe he's referring to the chrome cylinder mounted vertically near the radiator in this picture (below).

The movie looks really cool. Can't wait to see it. You've got a sweet looking ride. Way to cool that you got Gene to help you on it. Always good to see a cool chick work on her own 32. Keep it up.

THANK YOU CHAD !!! Well, more than likely it is going to buy food for the crew and actors or cinema light bulbs (those get costly!!) & gaffer tape, or even my replacement foam insert for my camera case (my current one having fallen into pieces and half of it having flown away across El Mirage lake :(... Ooops...

The following is taken directly from National Geographic, November 1996
    issue, vol 190, no. 5:

Don't call it duct tape. "It's gaffer tape," corrects writer Don Belt, who
used the stuff to remove hundreds of baby ticks from his legs in Belize. "It
looks like duct tape, but it's cloth-backed and even stickier." Whatever it
is, the big silver rolls keep this magazine's contributors from falling
apart. During aerial photography Joel Sartore tapes his seat belt shut --
just in case. For a hard-to-reach shot, Mark Moffett taped his feed to the
top of a towering platform. Photographer Chris Johns reattached his Land
Rover's fuel tank in South Africa. Now he won't venture on assignment
without at least 20 rolls in his camera bags. Says Chris, "It's as
important to my job as film."

Wow, that's a cool thread! the ida was inspired from a true story that happened to Gene Winfield a long time ago, his hood flew open and broke his windshield and he had to bow out of the race. So I put it in the film.:D

I always say: "GIVE ME A ROLL OF GAFFER TAPE AND A ROOL OF CINEFOIL AND CAN WILL BUILD A UNIVERSE!!!"

These are the two most useful (along with clamps) tools of a filmmaker. :D

MEANWHILE: Just finished wiring my coil, ballast resistor, distributor and then wired my automatic shut off switch :). Now moving on to the temp and oil pressure sensors. Working with the cloth covered wires and LOVE them. They sure look good!

GREAT NEWS! Now you can view the film teasers and clips in HIGH DEF FULL SCREEN... Allow a few moments for the video to upload but I promise the quality is well worth the wait!

You know, I once saw an article about how most stock oil pressure senders only trip the light at like 5 PSI. You can get senders from trucks that go to like 15 or 20 PSI.

The brilliant author of said article grabbed some plumbing supplies at a local hardware store, made a "T" out of metal tubing of the proper diameter, and attached it to where the oil pressure sender goes. In each end of the "T" he put the original 5 PSI sender, and a 15 PSI sender, respectively.

Then he wired it up so that the 15 PSI sender was the one that tripped the light, but if the 5 PSI one was tripped, instead of turning on an idiot light it cut power to the coil, shutting down the car and saving the engine.

It was such a good idea, it stuck around in my brain!

LAST BUT NOT LEAST, here is an entire section of my film you guys have never seen before. It comprises of two scenes back to back, showing Johnny (in 1955) suddenly going into a flashback to his chilhood (1942) - As he remembers his father James.

It shows the tradition of hotrodding being passed from father to son, from generation to generation and shows Johnny and his father James bonding.

It also shows the DEUCE OF SPADES, in it's earlier pre war configuration, when it had a 29 body on. It reveals where the Deuce came from and where the famous ring came from...

It also gives hommage to all those who died in WWII.

I really like this scene and it has a couple of really neat shots. The little actor who play little Johnny at 8 years old is none other than our own Hamber's Rich Ramirez kid. He did an AMAZING job and had never been in front of a camera before.

This scene shows the deeper side of my film. As I have warned all of you, this movie is not a "feel happy" fluff film. It goes well beyond hotrods and will pull hard at your heart strings. This is a drama. Be prepared to FEEL.

SPECIAL THANKS TO COOKS MACHINE SHOP for donating their awesome period correct shop for this scene and special thanks to KEVIN of Cyclone Racing for making it happen. Special thanks to SCTA member Dan Warner, for donating his cool 29 roadster for these two scenes.

The first song on that soundtrack was donated by STOMPY JONES, a killer swing band friend of mine. The second song is my own, with me writing, singing, playing all the instruments and mixing/producing. [IMG]

I hope you enjoy the scene.

Looks killer, I am a News Camerman for CBS and have worked on a couple of shorts on the side and I am a car guy. Glad to see someone combine to great forms of expression, The Camera and The Car. Can't wait to see the film, any plans to screen it in the mid-west?

I've been at it every night after work until midnight or so. Jimmy and Jerry are helping several times a week. I finished wiring the engine compartment :D, it looks real neat. I'll post photos today. I have now joined Jimmy under the dash and we were working last night, lying on our backs looking straight up under the dash and connecting wires, routing etc... I made many more connectors, spliced wires together by soldering them, made ground terminals... Jimmy is the conductor, orchestrating the wiring and I am his sidekick :D. Starter is now wired, headlight switch, fan switch, ignition switches and fuel pump... Of course all the lights are wired, the ignition coil, ballast resistor and distributor and generator are wired. The gauge sensors (temp and oil pressure) are wired too. Sat we put the gauges back in and wire them. I think we might be able to fire up the deuce then... IF ALL GOES WELL ;)... I dread a mistake and the deuce being dead in the water and us having to trouble shoot every change we made (new fuel pump, new generator, new wiring)...

I told Jimmy yesterday: "I happened to drive by Bob's Thursday and glanced at the empty parking lot and my heart suddenly hurt. This puzzled me. It suddenly dunded on me that I felt that way because there was no car meet there the lot was deserted and I had no deuce. And suddenly it seemed like that part of my life was gone forever... Like an era, gone by and never to return... And I felt this sense of deep loss. I told Jimmy: "Do you think I am crazy? That not having my deuce makes me feel that way?"

He smiled and said: "Only a car person can understand it".

It's true, this is the longest I have ever been without driving the deuce. I'm really aching for it. :(
