yes chad thank you so much for giving me some of your cool stuff for the film... As I said in my PM to you a minute ago, I am not done with the film so the list of songs for teh soundtracks is not final yet, as more keep being added, each time I film a new scene. Once I have my final list, I will dispatch the paperwork and double check I have the name of the songs and bands right (for the credits) etc...

All I can say is that everytime I play a clip on my i-hone to someone here in LA, they invariably comment: I love the music!!!!!!!

If I got a buck for each of those "I love the music" compliments, i would be able to finance the rest of this film, plus the sequel LOL...

Thank you :) Please tell every one you know about DEUCE OF SPADES. Word of mouth is very powerful and it is allowing the film to snow ball more and more each day. :D

Hey Faith - Could you please send Mark and Ron up here when they're done wiring your car? Um, better send Gene, too...
    Thanks,

wow.. first time I saw this post..cant wait till the movie comes out.. would really be interested if you came up with one of those "the making of Duece of Spades" type of dvds.I think with your behind the scenes clips, the stories of the hardship of making the film, how your garage got so many neat looks for shots ,and all the actors and film crew candids would be a total sell out to HAMB members.. course I'd buy one and then would just HAVE to buy the movie so Id have the box set:D

Well... Funny you should say that because I have been editing a lot of behind the scene footage over the last week or so. And it started to dun on me that with the film being long as it is already, I may not be able to fit everything on ONE DVD, and might have to consider the option of making a set of two. One with the film, the second with the Special Features.

    Special Features may include:

    1. Deleted scenes
    2. Bloopers (I LOVE that one)
    3. Behind the scene footage
    4. A day in the life of the filmmaker (aka: filming the last flashback scene)
    5. Building the jail set
    6. A recap of many of the cool cars in the film and their owners
    7. Interview with the main cast members
    8. Interview with the crew and director (aka: me)
    9. the Deuce of Spades roadster, up close and personal (specs on the car etc...) this will list the specs of the deuce as well as list all the people who have donated parts or labor to make the deuce what it is today.

    10. ????????? I am sure more ideas will come to me.... That's my problem you see.. I have WAYYYY too many ideas...

Most of above has already been filmed and some is already edited and ready to go.

Last but not least, I want to make the film available with filmmaker's commentaries.

Then we'll have to make the Spanish version, then the French version, then the Japanese version, then the Swahili version

    OH FOR HEAVEN SAKE!!!!!!!!!

Can I PLEEEEASE please pretty please have a moment to catch my breath?

    No.

    Not a chance.

    LOCATION WANTED!!!!!!!!!!!!

NEED A BOOKSTORE TO FILM THE BETTIE SCENE. This is a modern day scene, so any bookstore, of any size, will do. Willing to travel a bit if the store is not in my immediate location (ex: bakersfield, San Diego etc..)

    CAN ANYONE HELP PLEASE?????????

I will need permission of owner in order to be able to film the store. Needless to say, since I have zero budget, there is no money involved. So Basically I need to find a store that is willing to donate the use of their store for one day / or one night so we can film this very important scene.

    Please put the word out

Exciting day today as I have officially bolted the powergen on the deuce. Bye bye Alternator :))... My friend Jerry and I tackled fitting the prototype bracket that was donated by Greg at Alan Grove Component. I am happy to report that after a bit of grinding and adjusting (all of which minor), the braket fit perfectly and the generator is now ready to rock n' roll, except for the lack of belt, since my old one is now too short

While I was at it, I cleaned the engine and stripped the red paint off of the breather tube.

The engine compartment is starting to look cool.

I also tore off the rubber fuel lines and funky looking fuel log and now we start to plan for hard lines, the glass bowl filter (firewall mounted) and a new fuel log.

    Life is gooood.

Watch out for the counter guys at the auto parts store! Some counter guys flip out if you walk in and tell them you want a belt _" long. If you don't know the year/make/model, they look at you like deer in headlights!

Did your filter finally come in?

yeah it was funny because Gene was wearing a Gene Winfield Tshirt, while playng the role of El Mirage George. In short, he plays the role of a guy who is a fan of Gene Winfield (I guess) LOL... :D

Talking about Gene, here he is putting his special touch to restore my sorry looking tail lights:

    Before:

Here is Gene welding new backs for the lights:

And here are my taillights now (minus the paint which was sprayed after taking those photos)

My lights are now twice as bright as they once were. And I can change my light bulb simply by popping the sockets out from teh sides. No more need to dismantel the entire light assembly and waste 2 hours. hehehehehe.

    I feel So spoiled!

Today I tore out my old fuel pump and Mark and Ron helped me figure out where to bolt the new Holly, which is much bigger... Looks like it will still fit (but barely). :)

hey thanks jason :) - Actually, I bought this one over a year ago, when we thought my tiny cheapo fuel pump was failing... Turned out to be the electrical conneciton to it that was failing... but the fuel pump was old and decrepit and really tiny, so since I now have help I decided it was time to finally shlap the Holly on.

    OH YEAH....

Keep the old one! Clamp a 10' length of rubber fuel line to each end, coil it all up, and toss it in a baggie in the trunk. Then make an extension cord for it that plugs into a cigarette lighter.

Now you're all set to siphon gas directly from tank-to-tank in case of an emergency! :D

Hey, I got tired of siphoning with a garden hose back in high school when we were all poor. My friends and I couldn't really borrow gas money from each other (we all usually filled up on payday with the last of our money), but we were all willing to share the actual gasoline we'd already filled our tanks with!

Would've been awesome to have it on video.... not many can say, "Dude - that's TOTALLY Gene Winfield welding on MY tail lights!!!"

    That's just awesome. :)

I can't remember if I posted this photo already or not, but this is Gene and I in front of the Deuce, after our El Mirage shoot :D...

Meanwhile, Mark, (who works with Gene and is oftentimes seen pushing Gene's roadster around on the dry lake) has been working on my wiring. I am finally going to have a horn and turn signals. the later being good to have at night on the freeway...

Here are the boys working on the Deuce by the side of my garage:

here is the jungle of unmarked wires we tore out of the roadster:

And here is how pathetic Mr. Deuce looks right now (shhhhhh... Don't tell him I said that LOL). the blue car cover folded in 10 is my new "car seat" LOL so I can "drive" it while people are pushing it out of the garage. Top speed: 000000000000.1 miles per hour LOL. YEAH BABY! That's excitement!

On the photo, you can see the radio rails, up under the dashboard. The radio will slide up and hide under the dash and stays up there thanks to a big ass magnet. Not sure who installed this, but it is a very smart idea.... And, primitive as it is, works well.

PS: I meant to also mention that the "new old stock" wire harness Mark donated is a Ron Francis from the 80's. They sure had a nice fuse box back then, it's brushed aluminum and look real neato. Plus I have like a zillion circuits... Enough to fire up and entire Disco night club LOL (complete, with disco ball HAHA!)...

    :D

I'll post more photos soon, including my new generator set-up.

 Ok now I am going to have to put a bumper sticker on the back of my roadster, with 2 arrows pointing to the taillights and it will read:

TAIL LIGHTS WELDED BY GENE WINFIELD, THE MASTER HIMSELF :D

    hehehehehe...

Wait I am going to dig out the full photo of Gene holding the taillights. I think I have it here somewhere. Be right back...

Nice avatar... would look good embroidered on hats, or on T-Shirt pockets. :)

Or better yet, as promotional waterslide decals slipped in with the DVDs! :)
