When I first joined the H.A.M.B about 15 years ago, there was a thread about an independent filmmaker who was making a movie about some kid and his adventures with a deuce. I followed it with great interest, but somehow lost track of it. I have searched the internet but I can't find any reference. I may have the title wrong, but anyone who has been on this forum should remember it.

Does anyone know what happened to it?

  3. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting the young lady who owns the car at NSRA Bakersfield 5 years ago. Nice person.

I heard a lot about it a few years ago. Hate to admit I haven’t seen it. It’s in my to do list.

If I remember right [debatable] I was on Her mailing list for a long while and bought a "package" of the movie and other bits and out takes and future endeavors planned.

Turns out it’s on YouTube for free. I will check that out.

  8. I tried watching it when it came out..... It had some cool cars, but basically no plot. Kinda like American Graffiti

It’s no academy award winner but it’s actually a pretty good movie. I started to watch it several times after I bought it but always got distracted. Just recently I sat and watched it. It was probably a little too long but I liked it. My wife and I met Faith (Granger) at Eagle Field and they hit it off right away. We bought her T-shirts and stuff to support her efforts. She threw in a few extra dvds so we could give them to interested friends. I read on her website that she is involved with several projects including a “the making of” version of the movie. Read the bio and stuff, she’s quite a gal.

I did the Visual-FX/3D/CGI for Duce of Spades, so I was quite involved in the production :)
Faith Granger (producer/director/actress) got a beamer and did a mobile cinema tour back than all over the US in her hot rod.

You can still watch it on Youtube, and here is some BTS.

My old band (Hot Rod Hucksters) is on the soundtrack.

  17. She's a good promoter/seller that's for sure, she came through here drumming up publicity for the movie, buttered up a couple guys in my old club to repair items on the fiberglass deuce for free then quickly turned a cold shoulder after the work was done looking for the next sucker lol
I played into the hype and bought the movie, I didn't think it was all what it was cracked up and promoted to be, it sure emphasized on non car parts to supposedly be a car movie and of course this is just my opinion on the movie.

My wife was reading a book in the living room when I started the movie. Not long after it started, I looked over and Carol was watching, and she never took her eyes off the screen all the way to the end. At the risk of being accused of being sexist, I thought it was more a chick flic than anything else.

Faith took her company out to the lakes to film a race segment...

Pissed the SCTA guys off, Faith 'took over', telling racers (and staff!) to "Shut up, we're printing some film heah..."

She was boisterous, but that brunette hair and bangs looked like she was playing my wife! (Very close)

Her '32 has the look, I have to say. A good reason to build a 'glass car...(if you don't have anything, are old, ltd. budget, and all those 'reasons' that we see as unreasonable)

  22. More about the individual, here's her Fbook page, just a little high on herself lol

I met Faith at the GNRS several years ago and she seemed like a real nice girl. She seemed just as interested in my Deuce roadster as I was with hers. Face it guy's, how many chicks do you know that own, drive and maintain a Deuce roadster? Sure it's a "chick flic" but who cares?

I thought it is a cool movie. Reminded me of me growing up in the 50's/60's.

Bought it,watched it and liked it! I like chic flicks and cars so it suited me. It is certainly better than most of the B movies made about our car culture back in the 50's and 60's. Not Oscar material but entertaining for sure.

not sure why some of you keep comparing it to Oscar material. those award shows always go to crap movies anyway. i stopped paying any attention to them since i seen the award was given to midnight cowboy. what a POS.

I followed the thread prior to movie release, bought the dvd when it came out. I liked it knowing that it was not a big Hollywood production. Met her at Back to the Fifties in Minnesota, saw her '32, bought the T shirt, she was nice and all was good.
