Have some experience with hot knives in upholstery applications. A lot of marine upholstery shops use CAD and foam for 3D printing.....not what I would call nonsense....more like bad***.....for someone with ZERO metal shaping experience.....this guy typing. 3D scan would give you the patterns to build said buck......cheaply and easily.

Me, I want a track nose Deuce styled piece.....without spending the big dollars on case studies, and/or screw ups. If you can stack the odds on a first time exercise.....so be it.

31V-Hemisperical.....saw your posts also looking for measures......you pretty much got it with the foam shaping. I'm gonna' stack some foam panel, and play here at the beginning of the next year. It's fun watching your stuff....and I won't fool myself into thinking I'll get immediate success.....but what the hell right ? Plywood is easy if I can get my overall dimensioning down. I have a general idea on the basic stock '32 grille shape and sizing.........thanks to Ned Ludd. WE SHALL SEE.

If you actually have zero metalshaping experience,
it might be a good idea to try something simpler first.
The rad shell/grill is the focal point of the car, it needs to be done well.

OK, success. Had to do a little Columbo work but found them. They have a new brand/website - http://www.cl***icautoparts.com

Go to page 96 of their early Ford catalog and you will see the image below. Hope this helps!

Cant find anyone that resells them as of now. I bought mine direct about 5 months ago.

    Interesting.
FWIW, The 32 Ford grille insert had been made by a company in Oklahoma City, called Mar K. I ran into a guy that worked there and he said they were no longer making them. The ones they made were very nice in quality.
The company mfg many later pick up parts but nothing for 37 Ford pickup..
