Ok....so here were gettin ready and loadin up the Deuce for the trip to the upholstery shop. Thanx Johnny for the tray truck lift to the shop ....beats the shit outta trailering the thing and watchin it swingin back and forth. I managed to come up with a late 50's /early 60's inspired design for the interior. Ya all have to stay tuned for that in about 3 weeks. After firing in the flatty and breaking in the cam, I had an oil leak from the rear seal (rare) and pulled the pan to scope it out. Found the thrust flange was toast so I had to get it fixed and should be back together next week. Other than that it ran like a charm and sounded nice and nasty. When it gets back ill drop the motor and trans back in, finish the handbrake setup and a few odds and ends and shake it down before I get it ready for the engineer (read PITA) Heres some pix while loading it up and at the shop...stay tuned for more. Nearly there now. Rat
I believe they are 1954 Vauxhall tailites as far as I can tell. These cars were from the UK but were available in OZ too. Rat
GO RAT! if you dont drive that thing to johns, ill push truck it with the rpu all the way down there. fukk the engineers, register it as a tractor, then you can do your own R/Worthy. thats what im doin!! Primary production rules.
I hadn't seen any updates and was wondering what you were up to. What a bitch about the engine, but it's looking real nice and i can't wait to see the interior.
G'Day,Tray truck, thanks for another addition to out Australian/American dictionary. The car looks great! Is that a real license plate or an invite to kangaroos?
"Tray Truk"=flat bed, in American-speak. "Push truk"=tow truk, in American-speak. Damn, you guys talk funny...or is it that we talk funny? Nice looking three-window, BTW...or maybe that's not correct...you guys got another name for a 3-window coop? R-
As i log on pretty much each day, I ALWAYS look for an update on the Deuce. Low and behold - I'm a happy man -- WOW it's lookin f'n sweet. Hopefully you'll be AOKd by the "engineers" and all will be go for John's - I shall look out for you 2. Can't wait to see what's instore for the interior... keep em postin.. tikEK
Mmmm, we have flat beds and tow trucks in my part of Australiaville. Push truck at the races. Nice job on the coupe, however you move it.
I was wondering what was hapening with this. I hadn't seen an update in a while. I can't wait to see that thing around Melbourne.
Tires sizes are 16 x 7.50's and 16 x 5.25. Thanx for the comments....we're getting there now. But rides like ours are never finished...........RIGHT ?? Rat
Looking great. What's all this talk about engineers???? A Deuce with a flathead. That's stock aint it?
Hey frank, Sure glad to see the pics, everything looking great as I expected. Really like the color, soooooo the interior must be gonna be white roll and pleat with light blue piping, orrrrr light blue with white inserts, orrrrr white with light blue inserts or candy cane stripe to match the driveshaft.........I give up, too many combinations!!HA I guess we'll have to wait and see it! I'm sure you'll hit another home run with that as you have everything else!! Sorry to hear about the thrust flange, what a bummer. I think the last I heard, you had discovered the leaker and was making ready to replace the seal........oh well, the more we fix the more we learn......... Thanks for the update,
Frank, what engineer are you using? I too have a repop chassis, but a steel body. i don't want to go onto "Con reg", so need some advice as to who to use as a Hot Rod engineer, not some F*%^&n Street rod wanker!!! Cheers
Looks Bitchin' How many sheep can ya fit in the trunk? (jus' jivin'!) Should definitely stick out at "John's" Must make it over one year. The blue really suits and you've got the look jus' right! Cheers, Cruisin'
Actually, I don't think I'd go with BLUE interior. Too much blue. I'd use red and white. The red would make everything on that car **POP** ! I LOVE the color though, very subtle and very classic! xxx Brandy Ohhhhhhhh and loading a car onto a trailer with it's weight evenly distributed stops it from swaying all over the road. Unless you're trying to avoid running over the kangaroos?
I love your deuce rat! Its the color combination along with the engine choice that really hits the mark. And now the interior will really make me drool. Good job.
