I just recently relocated from Austin to the DFW area, Argyle to be exact. I know, why the hell would I leave Austin? Well the wife's family is from here so "Happy Wife Happy Life"! Anyone know of any weekend gatherings that occur on a regular basis? Let me know, I anxious to get out and meet some of you fine North Texans!
I would like to know too. We just moved to Scurry (the opposite side of the metroplex from Argyle, bummer) and my wife thinks I need to make some friends. I'll even buy the beer if I need to. Won't somebody be my friend!?
HRC, I'm all over the metroplex everyday. I run 3 body shops for International Trucks so i'm writing estimates everywhere. Let's get together sometime. My 34 is lonely right now!
Pistons and Paint In Denton in November would probably be a good place to meet up with some DFW folks.
every friday nite in the Albertsons parking lot, Cowtown Cruisers have a car show...usually 50-100 cars and lots of folks...informal...i like it....located in the nw quadrant of the intersection of I-20 & Little Rd(exit off I20), in south Arlington....not personally a member but i live down the street and go to the event occasionally
Keller's Hamburgers on Northwest and Abrams is a pretty cool scene. People hang out every Saturday Night. Good food and cheap beer.
You guys are welcome to Manifolds on Main. We get close to 200 cars and it will be on Saturday Sept 25th. more info at www.ManifoldsOnMain.com Bart
I'm a regular at this cruise night as well. Mixed bag of cars, but most are hot rods, customs, street rods and street machines with a few late models mixed in. Very informal. I like it. Bring a lawn chair, sit and relax.
A bit of a drive from Argyle, but not too far from Scurry - Shakers and Scrapers CC has a monthly cruise at the sonic in Corsicana. Small time, but they seem like good people.
+1 for this show. I'll be there if I can get my Fairlane on the road. May have to steal my son's pedal car though.
I live close, but I busy as hell on weekends and not sure about regular hangouts, I've tried a couple of times to get something started but not good results. Our club the Torques get together ever so often at ones house for a night of whatever needs to be done. I will be having one soon to set the a bady on my duece frame to haul to Rusty's shop. i'll let ya know and you can come by and meet everyone.
It might be a little ways for you but Pizza Inn on 8th Ave in Fort Worth is supporting the hot rod way on Tuesday nights. You can see details on the calendar. I wish more hangouts would be supported during the week in Fort Worth.
Not set in stone yet, but the "Propwash Fais Do-do" is May 21. Its just west on FM407. There are several of us within a few miles of you. We occasionally go to Frosty's just up 377 in Denton.
