I placed an order with Diamondback last Wednesday late afternoon for a set of new tires for Big Olds. They told me I'd have them in a couple of weeks. I mentioned to James my salesguy that I really needed them quickly if I was going to safely travel to the GG Indy event and the Hot Rod Reunion in Bowling Green and that they needed to be at my house on or before June 11th if I was going to be able to get them mounted and balance before the trip. He explained that they are made to order and they just aren't sitting around a warehouse. I was bummed but understood.

Got home from work today to a HUGE surprise....4 brand new WWW from Diamondback sitting on the picnic table in my backyard just waiting for me! :D

Way to go guys! Thanks much James and Tab!

Good to know. I have been looking for a good supplier.

    Thanks Paul

  7. They are on my 55 Caddy. Now that I have owned a set they are the only tires I would use on my toys. Did you threaten to send cookies ?

  8. Tab took good care of me on a set of red lines. When someones looking for custom tires with white or red walls I always point em to Diamond back.

There were three different price range tires to choose from. The basic Diamondback was the same price as the Coker Classics with an alliance discount. I chose to pay the extra $25 per tire for the top of the line Michelin which have over 20,000 mile more rating on them which equals a year longer wear for me. WELL worth the extra $$ in my opinion.

I bought 2 sets of blackwall smoothies from Diamondback and was very happy with their service and quality. They beat their promised delivery date on both occasions.

Let me get this right...they make tires to order and you got Michelins?
    That does not compute.

Yep, they make WWW to order and I chose to have them use the Michelin tire. A nice high mileage rated radial that will ride like a dream.

I had a great experience with 'em. Not cheap as it ran damn near $1K to get new shoes on the '51, but worth every penny in my opinion.

$214 each for their top of the line Michelin 215 75R 15 with the 2 5/8" WWW, plus shipping of course.

$26. each for dismounting the old, mounting the new and road force balancing at the local Discount Tire.

You got them so fast because you're a celebrity, right? C'mon, 'fess up.....

I've had a set of DB's on my '37 coupe for several years and can't praise them enough. Quality product.

  25. I bought mine at the Myrtle Beach run this year. Saved the price of shiping but had to pay SC sales tax. Only saved 7 bucks but I love the tires.

be careful, very careful. There are people out there watching and listening that will send out bad men in black outfits to get you if you are complimenting anybody besides the C or H tire folks. Glad to hear you are pleased, Denise. Hope you get many, many miles of safe driving. I bet BO is smiling.

I just tell it like it is. :D
So far I'm thrilled with their customer service. Time will tell if I'm thrilled with the quality of the ride and longevity of the tire wear.

I do know one thing, if they take as much weight as my Coker Classics they are going back before the rubber ever hits the street. I know better now what is normal and what is excessive thanks to the HAMB.

I suggest that most of us on the HAMB are more excessive than normal

Ok, I get it now. They shave the whitewall of a new Michelin tire to the specific width you want. Yes?
