Yea, I realize that...I just don't see anything about that particular one (M5).

Run 205 75R 15's on my Stude...best www tires I've ever had, run true, easy to balance, never wear out and the whites stay pure white ...also run 215 75R 15's on my Cadillac, have over 15,000 miles on them and they still look like new...you can't go wrong with Diamondbacks...!!!

All their tires are done on major brand tires that they apply the WW on it. In most cases, in the main catalog they list the tire manufacturer, and I expect if you'll go to the trouble to look them up (M5's) in the catalog it'll list the tire's original manufacturer.
I bought my car partly built and it had been mocked up with a set of Coker WWW bias plies that are still on it now that I'm driving it. but the future calls for Diamondback radial WWWs.

I looked at online catalog. No M5 listed.

Click the flashing "monthly specials" on their home page and the M5 info will show.

I contacted Diamondback about the same tires when I got the flier. The base tires are Cooper, made in..........China ! They also have a line that use Toyo tires, which are made in ......Georgia, USA - Go figure !

I guess the difference between a 215/75r15 M5 for $189.00 and a 215/75r15 Diamond Back II for $229.00 is.....the M5 is a Cooper from China and the Diamond Back II is a Toyo from Georgia!?

Is that $160.00 to get USA made or is there another difference I don't know about?

    1. Diamondback don't make tyres.
    2. They source them from a range of manufacturers, shave the wall and bond on the whitewall.
    3. Go to any tyre dealer and you will see a variety of prices for different brands for the same size spec. Even within brands the price goes up as the speed rating goes up. Diamondback prices simply reflect that.

After 3 sets of Coker Radials and many problems (cracks in sidewall, tread separation, and the outside casing leaving the sidewall completely at speed) I switched to Diamondback. Haven't had a problem since. They're 215x75x15. They are Cooper, made in USA.

I'm on my 3rd set. 205/60-15 in the front, and 255/70-15 on the back. Over 20K on them and going great.
A while back, I had a right front vibration. I took it to a reliable tire place and they showed me that the alignment was fine but the tire had thrown a cord. This was displayed to me by mounting the tire on a spin balance machine, turning it by hand and seeing it move up and down. I called Diamond Back and they said send the tire to us, pay for the return postage and they sent me a new tire. That's service!

Call them and ask them. When I ordered my tires a few years ago I called planning to order some of the least expensive ones. I think they were called fury one at the time? We talked about it for a minute and he convinced me to get the Toyos. He explained the differences between the two and why they cost more and I was sold. I have since seen a pair of the ones I almost ordered, and I definitely do not regret the ones that I got.

Thanks for the opinions. I guess $40.00 ea. extra for the Diamondback II's is cheap insurance over the life of the tires.

  17. I've bought 4 sets of Diamondback radial white wall tires.
Had one that developed a bubble and later one would not balance up.
D.B. replace both, no charge, and told me to keep the old ones. Shipping and disposal rendered them useless to them.
