Anyone have experience with Diamondback tires?
Looks like their prices are slightly better than Coker.
How about ther quality and customer service?

Been running Diamondbacks on the '32 since 2001 and am very happy with them. On my second set now. Went to a taller size on the rear, 265/75/15. Had a problem with one of the new fronts, 165/15, after running it for quite a while and they were super about taking care of it to my satisfaction. No complaints.

  4. It looks like, just a new guy, starting a thread by making a post wanting to know about a brand name of tire. Or do you beleive in buying expensive Coker tires only?

I got a set of redlines from DBtires (Tab) here on the HAMB. Super nice fella to deal with. I havent mounted the tires up yet but I dont forsee any problems. They are Firestone radials which DiamondBack puts the redlines on.

Because Im an alliance member he gave me a better deal than their price in the catalog, just one more good reason to become an alliance member.

Another fan of Diamondback here - I've put about 25,000 miles (in 3 years) on the set on my Galaxie and figure I'll get at least another 10k out of them.

A few monthe ago I switched both of my open-wheeled Model A's from bias ply tires to Diamondback Radials...(75 series Diamondback 1's on front and AS4's rears...blackwall smoothies.)
I found Diamondback's customer service guy to be knowledgeable and helpful. Their delivery was prompt, and the tires arrived as promised or before.
For traditionalists like me they don't look nearly as good as my old Silvertowns but I think the trade-off in looks was worth it for me because my cars are drivers and the improvement in tracking, ride and handling was huge vs the bias plys.
So far I'm happy with Diamondbacks but it's too early to see how they wear.

I bought a set of the redlines a few years back for a 65 Corvette. Had a BIG knot come up on the side of one after just a few weeks.

They told me they'd take care of it, sent me a new tire and asked me to return the old one.

    Great!

THEN they charged my credit card (they had the number on file from the original purchase) so I was out for the cost of the replacement tire and shipping the old one back.

After multiple phone calls and a "good cop/bad cop" routine I got HALF the price of the replacement tire back, and was still out about $40 additional for all the shipping.

Maybe they've changed since then, but I'd think twice before buying from them again.
