Dick was a great man, and of course a real pioneer in customizing. He gave a bunch of us a real tour of his shop and projects, just amazing to see his work. RIP Dick, you will be remembered.
Like that amazing C-Dan behind Dick from back in the day....How about posting more pictures of his incredible builds here ???
https://kustomrama.com/wiki/Dick_Bertolucci Condolences to the Bertolucci family and friends in the passing of Dick...What a trendsetter in Hotrod/Custom...may he Rest in Peace. Thanks for sharing this loss to the Community @K13 Regards, Stogy
Sad news. R&C did an article on him in the early 90's that introduced me to him. They also featured his red chevy drag roadster with a big chevy six cylinder mill. That car blew my mind, it was the main reason i put a 292 six in my hot rod. RIP to a true hot rodding pioneer.
This thread is about him and his ‘38. Did he ever finish the restoration? https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/bertoluccis-38-coupe.377598/
We were honored to win the Dick Bertolucci Award of Excellence at the Sacramento Autorama in 2010. It was and continues to be our most respected award for our shop. Dick was a really true gentleman who we are pleased to have met. R. I. P. And our condolences to the family. x View attachment 5200965
August 1964 photo was of my high school friend Tom McHenry, who owned it at that time. Years later, Tom tracked down the car (I think it was in Oregon) and helped Dick get the car back.
Glad he was able to join his sweet Bev he had lost a year or so ago - 72 years together is something ain't it ! He was just a regular good guy at every breakfast we shared with the other Thunderbolts and even at my uncle's funeral he gave the nod to the engines Lawrence built. We are all blessed to have had him a part of our lives - thanks Richard !
I was thinking of you when I saw this Thread as I knew your Uncle was a good friend and you I understand as well...the wave never ends but we certainly can appreciate and celebrate their greatness...
Very sad news! I wanted to stop by and interview Dick on our 2019 Kustomrama Roadshow. Unfortunately, we ran out of time, and my plan was to make an effort to stop by him on my next trip over...but then the pandemic happened and everything was put on hold.....RIP Dick. Thanks for all you did for our hobby and lifestyle!
