Just got the crank back from Velascos yesterday(also std),& ol Henry gave it a clean bill of health for running Nitro.
Pluggin along slow but sure.

Who's blower drive?

 

Thats a standard 6/71 that was remaned for a diesel.
It needs to come apart & be re-timed,clearanced,etc.
The good news is that it WONT BE POLISHED ! ! !

 

Not polished is good. I hate the glitzy ****, its even worse on a race car.

Motor started out as a poly block.My dad ditched the heads,& put the 331 heads on it.
It had a de-stroked crankshaft & was exactley 299 cubic inches,,,,on Fuel.

 

Wow, a real, live, race car. My eyes are watering from the nitro fumes already. A car with which to have FUN!!! Pleeeease keep us posted on the progress.

 

This is what we intend to do with the car.
No burnouts,or 1/4 mile runs,,,,period.
And yes,,it'll make your eyes water with joy.
