    I learned on a 9N Ford tractor....but my first car was a 57 Belair.

  4. 8N Ford tractor, then on to the "wood truck" at 7 years old. A 1950 Ford f1 with a three on the tree and flathead 6. Took my drivers test in the new car, a 1965 Ford Falcon SW with an automatic.

The "wood truck" was given to me for my first driver. I kept it until my mid twenties when beer money became more important. Tried to find it, but came to a dead end.
Should have seen the expression on my Dads face when I told him I bought another 50 f1.
    Priceless...

1st thing i learned to drive in was a 54 Merc 2 ton grain truck(still have the ford flathead motor) hauling wheat from the field to the farmyard and then driving my grandfathers 52 Ihc pickup with a 3 in the tree. If you could drive those you could almost drive anything;)

40 something straight 8 green Buick, starter switch on the floor and yellow pages under my butt.... At 15 my Uncle let me drive his 66 Cadillac, holy mackerel, and a 64 Wildcat that had a broken motor mount and the throttle overcentered and the fan was in the shroud, also driving a 57 Hot Water 6 Ford to Dallas in the rain when the wipers only worked downhill....

Got my licence at 13 for a 5 HP motorcycle, my S90 had 8 But they sold a special 5 BHP version, so we got 5 BHP stickers for it, had to wait till 14 and drivers ed to get the car one.

'52 Ford 3-on-the-tree, but it wasn't very old at the time. I was 12.
