Did Ford build roadster pick up's in 30 - 31? I only saw closed cabs that ben converted to a roadster pu.
Brookville repros them too...... They even make a extended one......non original....with more room ..... About $3500 US for the original reproduction body. They make most everything else you would need too.
My bad...... I was looking at the Brookville on line catalog......and clicked on the incorrect photo I like the 29's better........than the 30-31's. I like the cowl part better. For me the best would be a 32 RPU.......yeah right.....Now we are talking real rare.
when I went out for rogues Ranchrun last month he showed me a '34 rpu that he is working on, even rarer
[ QUOTE ] Yup.My favorite, saw it several years ago at Lincoln Americruise.I think he's a bud of DRD57s. [/ QUOTE ] Nice--the chopped windshield is the perfect finishing touch. But please tell me that isn't a house window screen taped to the radiator!
BTW, here's a photo of an original '32 RPU that's been posted here a couple of times. Must be in my neck of the woods, 'cause I've seen it in person at a couple of shows:
'33-'34 RPUs are very similar and equally rare. I don't think Ford made RPUs for the U.S. market after '34. Funky windshield setup:
That black 32 is in the new Hop Up. There's a restored 34 in my neck of the woods, and parts for another 32 in my attic. But that black one is THE BEST. alchemy
[ QUOTE ] no shit? a 34 RPU!! i'd like to see that. [/ QUOTE ] MIKEY! You aren't suppose to be on here! What happened to your self imposed ban from the HAMB to get stuff done in the shop while your on layoff??? Your a BAD boy, now get back out in the garage! Now! There a local guy on the eastside of Detroit that has an all original '32 RPU. Maybe I can sweet-talk a certain someone into taking me over there and introducing me to the guy and then I can snap some photos. I'll share them here if I do.
[ QUOTE ] no shit? a 34 RPU!! i'd like to see that. [/ QUOTE ] They look just like the '32 RPU I posted, only they have the longer wheelbase and the laid black & different grille that the '34 closed cab trucks do. I think they made like five of them in '34, then rolled them all off a cliff the next day.
[ QUOTE ] zonkola, that's Jim Stroupe's truck. He lives in the Bay area. [/ QUOTE ] Yep, that's local. Parking my hacked up closed cab '32 RPU next to his (once mine is finished, say in the year 2012) would make for an interesting photo...
