I don't think Ford ever did but Edelbrock, Mickey THompson and I think even Weiand made cross ram dual quad intakes for the FE series. There might have been a boss 302 version too but I'm not sure. I don't know of any others and don't think there was ever a factory offering for this.
Seems I recall a dual four that utilized Motorcraft in-line four barrels, but I don't remember if it was a cross ram. I think Ford developed it for CanAm racing.
I don't think from the factory, but like unclescooby said there were aftermarket ones for FE motors I know, I used to own an edelbrock one...
That cross Boss looks killer. Are those weber based carbs? any other info on them? A carb like that would be killet on an inline 6.
Those are autolite inline 4bbls. They made an 850 cfm and a 1325 cfm. My boss has one of the big ones on a custom built tunnel ram on top of a super cobra jet 429. Its going in his daily driver Model A, he has to replace the 460 because its finnaly worn out after 300000 miles. Ill take some pics tommorow if I can remember my camera.
i used to know an early cobra 260 car in the early 70's that had one of of those inlines on it. that little car hauled ***.
No production cross ram that I have ever heard of...dual fours inline and six packs, but no four barrels side to side factory. I have seen some SBF cross rams from Edelbrock I think. Damn would it be sweet to convert a sonoramic mopar one to...let's say a 312? Wouldn't work on a FE since the intake goes under the valve cover. SBF may work as the runners are in about the same place as the mopar. I can't think of anything else blue oval it would look good on. The inline four is sweet, isn't it!
