This first image is my son, "drag racing" my 1934 Ford Phaeton, at about age six. The second image is of him, actually drag racing his 1966 Mustang at age forty-three. He is serious about racing, as he has run in the 9s in the 1/4 mile, with a small block Ford - 302. The videos are of him "playing" with his Mustang in what he calls "HorsePower Therapy 1, 2 & 3". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5A7CaEWsTAwll MIKE
Actually you started him late! Ha Ha..here are some pic's of our son Ron, Jr. The first 2 he is 11 months old in our '32 roadster. The 3rd is him- 34 years old with his proud mom & dad at Maxton, NC. Our friend Steve lets him take the VanBlarcom & Gilmore roadster down the mile course. He ran a 205 mph at Maxton, and a whopping 219 mph in Loring, Maine.
No such thing as "too young". My nine-week-old daughter did Americruise '97 in a car-seat in the back of a '55 Chevy.
First thing my old man did when I got home from the hospital was put me on the tank of his motorcycle and gave me my first smell of burning rubber. Never too young, just wish it would have continued... sadly we have nothing resembling a hot rod now.
never too young my 17 yr old was asleep in his car seat at dream cruise #1 and now drives my lowered f100 as his daily driver (voted coolest ride in school) my daughter started racing at 9 and by 12 she was national points champion at 14 she wants a model A hot rod style
my son 6 years ago when he was 14, we were tearing apart a grabber maverick for a drive train in a 34 ford pick-up for my brother, pretty cool having such a good picture of his first burnout, even though I wish I hadn't cut the car up now
my daughter is 4, got here first 32 roadster (pedal car) at the her baby shower. spends time with me in the garage and loves riding in my Falcon and my Father in Laws 32 sedan. She has already been the nhra us nats, took me 30 years to get there. you can never start them to young in a hobby filled with good people that can bring life long friends.
An old guy asked my son, who is 16 now, how long you been goin to car shows? His reply was- ever since I was born. The old guy got quite a laugh.
