Gene had a couple of his 'glass chopped Merc bodies sitting around his shop as of a month ago. As to making ragtops from one, I don't know but it's not an impossibility. My buddy, Shotrod Deb's old man was stationed at Edwards (Ca) AFB and Deb spent almost as much time in Palmdale bs-ing with Gene and company as at home..:)

Two 1950's here in Grants Pass. One fellow bought his for $75,000 from Bruce Johnson in Mpls, MN. Any of you with the V-8 Times have seen his stuff, $$$. The other car belongs to a fellow in my; very nice looking car, with factory hydraulic windows and top.

Dude in NJ has one. Dont know what he paid, all orig everything from soup to nuts, and in nice unrestored shape. Im thinking better than $75k. I would have too if the bread was no prob....sweet car. They are hens teeth. Someday I would love one, but Im way into the kustom Mercs more than the stockers, and I wouldnt have the balls to cut a legit convert up.

There are at least 2 51 Mercury convertibles here in the Houston area. Both are owned by the same guy.
The Mercury wagons are all Tudor Woodies.
