Technical Did Rajah make coil or dizzy cap wire ends similar to their plug wire ends?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Max Gearhead, Apr 6, 2015.

  1. Got some Rajah ends for my spark plugs but find nothing around for the coil wire or distributor cap ends. Were they available back in the day or anything similar made today? Any ideas/info much appreciated. Thanks.

The cap end of the wire would fit into a recess, thus no insulated end was needed, just the bare brass wire-end was pressed on.

Many early performance coils (see thread on those!) and some distributor caps had similar arrangements, with a collar that went over the wire and screwed into the coil or cap. And of course there are Mallory distributors and some of their coils that have an outer cap and thick gasket isolating the wires and holding them down on a contact spike.
For coils and caps with open sockets like semi-modern ones of the '50's and '60's I'm not aware of any good aftermarket replacement for the poorly fitting wire ends and boots...those do work, but they've always made me a bit nervous and they are absolute crap compared to the 2-piece Rajahs.
Brillman may be the most thorough souce for Rajah's many variations and other early setups.
