  3. Good morning. I too like the tin. They were usually toys made the same year as the real car. So I think they are very traditional. It's cool that any survived. 20170502_083620_001.jpg 20170502_083641.jpg 20170502_083458.jpg

  4. Here is a die cast Oldsmobile to compair to the tin. Much better detail. But made as a collectable. Both cool in a different way. 20170502_091453.jpg 20170502_091528.jpg 20170502_091624.jpg

    Hey Ron,
You are right, those pipes on Mark S's Ford look pretty accurate. When we put some on our 58 Impala, we were trying to eek out every advantage out of that 348/280 hp motor against those more powerful 335 hp Chevys in 59-60. But, as cool as they looked, the dragstrip officials would not allow us to run them in the A/Stock class. We never got a ticket on the street, either...They were louder than stock mufflers, but quieter than full open headers. So, we dropped out of that class and went in a different direction.

Wow, nice 40 Ford Sedan Delivery model..Those deliveries will always stay as our absolutely favorite in our long line of cars, old and modern. I found a model that will be fun to modify and it comes apart for easy painting and assembly. (die cast 40 Ford Sedan Delivery) Yours is pretty wild !

    Thanks

    Junji

Lots of crappy weather here last week so I hit a couple garage type sales. Picked up some Tootsietoy Military vehicles and another nice find with white wheels and pinched axles but no name. It is heavier and possibly lead cast. Not sure if it is a Barclay from the 40's or 50's.
Another find was a beat up Metal Masters Fire Truck missing some parts. I found a set of tires and modified a ladder, made the top rails and a mount for the ladder. A fresh paint job during one of the rainy days and now I think I might find a spot in my collection for this one.
