I got the black Hot Rod as a kid at 7 or 8 ? Painted it many times. It looked like the red one when I got it originally. I don't know where I got that one??? lol
Created another tabletop display with the rusty toy train passenger car I found a few weeks ago. Mounted it on wood saved from a 150 year old maple tree we cut down several years ago. Added some landscape pieces to make it look abandoned in nature. Big surprise when I put it near a window. The back lighting from the sun, made the ghostly figures of passengers visible in the train car. I guess I will now call this creation "the ghost train".
Hoo boy! Another I got years ago because they don't do 40s. You should be able to find one. They did a bunch of variations. There were many listed on the bay. Obviously, the Matchbox is a reasonable pocket change purchase. The 1/18 on the secondary market is a steak dinner price.
Two fer toozdee: AMT 46 Ford; supposedly their 1st scale model and a souvenir of the 90th lndy 500; scored at the inagural dinner for the grand opening of the Andy Granatelli museum.
A couple of my full-size builds that I recreated several years ago in small diecast. I also did my 56 using a larger Franklin Mint diecast.
This was the bright yellow Fedco (?) Auto Parts stock car. I figured I could take it apart & strip it to yellow for c. 1960 17 year old's car. Went with the lacquer thinner as always, & rubbed thru it ... Feathered it & shot Bahama Blue. Going to use a license plate for floor pan - tabletop only. This version has been fitted with the one piece w/s usually found on '50 88s. Found some whitewalls & Starfires long forgotten in basement.
