differece between 36 chevrolet

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by lefturn, Sep 30, 2006.

  1. are the front fenders the same on 36 standard car and master?
    how about the grill surround?
is there a web site that gives the difference in this car model?
i know the master is longer in the running board area. is that all?

  2. I believe the fenders are the same but the master running boards are longer. The grill shells are the same. I've found bits and pieces on different web sites but never found a definitive site.

  3. the front fenders are the same for std and master but there is a slight difference if the car had a straight axle or knee action most masters are knee action but could be ordered with a straight axle the opp is for the std which had more straight axles than the master, i belive the difference was in the slot for the front bumper as it was relocated to make the knee action fit although the differences are minor and can be welded to get the results you need. grill shell are all the same, masters are 4" longer than the std.

The Standard and Master fenders are different...most Masters had a knee-action front suspension...the Standards still had the conventional straight axle / spring set up. There is a "cover" over the front spring mount outside of the fender on the Standards...this is also where the bumper brackets were mounted. Masters don't have the "cover".
