I reckon it looks great. Matching fins, you made it,you designed it.
More importantly, you like it. (Did I already say I like it too?)

  5. I like it, kool for sure, just my two cents, lose the HEI and flex hose and that would look vintage sweet!

looks good, the matching fins are a nice bonus.

  8. I tend to like an air cleaner that looks like an air cleaner. Something that isn't trying too hard.

I think it at least needs a dome top on it instead of that flat top.

Only thing that would make that cooler than it is is a slightly domed top.
Nice job of making something out of almost nothing. Good eye!

How about a shot of the cleaner inside?

    SUPER cool. Nice execution.

A fella in Indy has a slant six powered T with an old Evinrude housing for an air cleaner. But I really like how you've done yours! +1 from me!

I agree and I started out with dual fours and a dual point dizzy. It ran like crap...backfired, hesitated, coughed, etc. I figured it was the carbs so I put the single four on it and it did the same thing so I swapped out the distrubutor for a new HEI I had and it ran great. so I left it...sorry! I guess I need to look for a new dual point. And the hose can be easily replaced also. Thanks for the help!

Absolutely Stupeyin'.........nice work, and unlike most of us...you likely NEVER see another one (well, now that you've shown us all how it's done, you've probably started a new trend - which is OK...we need a new idea from time to time)

Nice work - good ingenuity...how many of us have seen old o/b motor covers and never given them a thought?

Never under estimate the creative ingenuity of a hot rodder. Well done, and it looks like it belongs there.

thanks for all the positive replies. My neighbor ( who is more of a "bilet" kind of guy) told me it looked like an upside down toilet bowl. I looked at it again and said " I think you're right!" I am going to look into seeing what I can do to make a dome top on it.

Looks cool as hell....maybe some stainless mesh in the opening in the front to finish it off though.
