Screenshot 2024-09-22 215921.jpg IMG_8788.jpg I recently bought a 1954 Ford F-100 that had been sitting in an 84yo man's driveway for 10 years. As I was replacing the bed wood, I noticed this. Does anyone recognize the artwork? It looks like a dragon breathing fire and the tail actually goes onto the passenger side axle shaft.

I'd almost replace the rear cover, spray some flat clear on that one and hang it on the shop wall...

A bit modern. I remember AMF and Happy Face on drop outs like 9.3 Olds/Pontiac.

  5. Interesting for sure. Hope you can ID the artist.

The peeling might make if difficult to preserve as-is (I’m not a painter). But I’d try, and put it back on the rear end.
May not be “history” but dang cool.

It would be great to save, but clear might make it worse than it is. Can you ask the previous owner? Pretty Neat!

Previous owner didn't even know it was there and he had the truck for 10 years but rarely drove it. IMG_8591.jpg

Speaking of rear end art, A buddy of mine was a huge BB King fan so for his birthday his wife had a B tattooed on each butt cheek. When he got home she proudly dropped trau and bent over to show him his gift, he was pleased but confused. he said "that's nice but who the hell is BoB?

Back when I was in HS jacked up tri Five Chevys were big. I still remember one with a painted white rear end with a 2 inch or so gear oil stain running down from the fill plug. Don't remember anything else about the car or even the guy who owned it but that oil stain sticks in my mind over 50 years later.

Maybe add your location to your profile and it might help someone with identifying the artist?

Go to the top of the page and click on the man icon just to the left of the pm envelope. A drop down box will appear. Select personal details, that is where you add your location info

I am planning on some art once I blow apart the chassis for paint, but that's a while down the road and I could change my mind. It needs the panhard rod completely redone before I think about paint. 20240526_142645.jpg
The art I'd like to add (just the globe and ring). The rear is an Olds.

The dragon reminds me of some Caballero skateboard art. Almost looks like it had lettering under it . I can dig it

A buddy took this one off a 50 Chevy he updated.
He put a chrome cover on it (to sell).
Hung it on his garage wall.
