Dimensions of '47 chevy gas tank?

we're trying to set up the ch***is on a friend's car, but we need to know the dimensions of the gas tank and he doesn't have one. Any of you guys out there have one you can measure?

Its 27-28 long, 23 wide, and 8 inches deep....

I strongly recoment you guys , to use a fuel cell. We choosed a cell for our 47 because a tank with those dimentions cost 250-300 bucks. A cell costs around a 100-150 with the foam... plus its easyier to mount, and alot safer...

Any way, if your going to use a metal tank, try a 70's mustang... I belive there very close to those dimentions.
