Exactly why I like to think about things, low or no cost practical engineering! Perhaps doing the same to the exhaust ports would be a neat idea, decreasing the flow resistance. My thoughts were, when I saw this idea that it is as good as a cross flow head without the cost of casting a new head. Alot easier to achieve this without the huge time invested in a foundary and casting new heads, just improving what already exists.
Once again for learning....could you 86 the intake valve....put efi on it and spray directly through where the spark plug sits...timing it so the spray hits at the optimum moment in the stroke? Move the spark plugs to the top of the head? This would give fuel in on one side and exhaust out the other.... I know this might be dumb...but I am really thinkin outside the box here...
well can always install a roaddraft, 7 main bearings, 190 hp stock, in the junkyards, cheep, with FI, auto, and with a little turbo! hmmmm? I understand, I have a chev 261, 6 banger.
