Installed disc brake kit on 9" Ford rear. Everything went on with no problems. Bled the system and adjusted the emergency brake a number of times. When I start the car, pedal goes to the floor. New 7" dual booster and 1-1/8 bore master cylinder. 2 lb. residual valves toward front and one towards the rear with the brass type proportional valve. Did the gap between the booster and MC. Both under floor. Just about ready to put drums back on. Thanks
Have you got free play between the pedal and the booster? If so then my guess would be a bad booster.
Pedal going down a small amount when the engine is fired with the brake pedal depressed gently when cranking /starting is generally a test for satisfactory operation of the booster. Does the pedal really go ' to the floor'? Booster is new as is master. Same sizes as before? How were brakes previously? What initiated the change to discs in the rear? What's @manyolcars standard response? . Always makes me smile. Chris
Bench bled master? new? Did it run dry ? You can do it on the car but it needs bled as a stand alone unit.
What kit did you use? If you have the Cadillac calipers, they need the parking brake adjusted before you bleed the calipers.
