Distributor (dizzy) for Four banger

Hello,

I am building a Four Banger 1929 model A sedan. I wanted to use a more modern distributor. I know Sacamento Ford sells them (about $245.00) and Some recommended a Model B dizzy. Any other ideas or recommendations? Anybody ever use a Mallory? If you have a four banger, what are you using?

Here are two distributers I have shown before. Bosch made for a 2000cc Pinto converted to fit a '29 through '32 Plymouth and Chrysler four, and simular Bosch VW distributer converted to fit '26 and '27 Dodge Bros. four. Don't buy it, build it.

 

A distributor from a flathead four powered Jeep converts to A/B use easily.

 

Be aware that the A and B require more total advance than most engines, and so need substantial static advance with many distributors...the B is an example of this.

 

If the Jeep works the Pinto/VW must spin the wrong way. Vega rotates the other way from a Pinto.

 

Ford bangers are CCW...

 

Volvo B18 B20 has been used successfully to. They are Bosch made.
