I've found the distributor machine to be great at getting to theoretical spec but I always need to do some minor adjusting on the road, or track.
the biggest benefit is convenience, ease of access.
the whole job can be done in car.

    Does it work now?
Can you get replacement parts if needed?
I have an old Allen Machine that's works with points or HEI, I have no parts other then a bunch of old HEI springs.
What do you want when you say SET-UP ? Just a good running distributor or a special curve and limited advance?
I'm in the Kansas City area.
Send me a private message if you want and we can discuss your needs. I've run a few dual point distributor, both were conversion kits in stock points distributors.

@Joe H always liked the Mr gasket dual point conversion kit. Used a bunch of them, always liked the looks of a "stock" sleeper motor and with Pontiacs it was easy with such a good oem intake and performance building the quadrajet carb..

If I built a motor for someone that wanted the performance bling I'd use the Mallory...

Charlie NY didn't get banned for poor work or bad customer service. He did the carb of my 8ba and it is top notch. I did contact him about converting a Mallory dual point for my 8ba. I wanted to go with a more traditional unit to replace the window cap Chevy one that Buba (RIP) did. Charlie was very helpful and the price he quoted was reasonable IMO. In the end I decided to stay with the window cap one and ended up giving the Mallory I had to a buddy who did some welding for me. I wouldn't hesitate to have Charlie set up your Mallory but that's JMO.

Bruce, Carbs Unlimited here in Glendale, Arizona. If he has all the specs on your motor such as rear gear ratio, carb you are using, camshaft profile etc. he can do it. Also runs it on a mule SBC engine run stand.

I can help with my Allen machine, but I've only setup Pontiac's and a couple six cylinder Chevrolets. Here are Dustin's engine spec's.

    3200-lb 1963 C10 with a Balanced 1965 .030 over 327 about 325 hp with 10:1 CR, Aluminum Camel Hump Heads 2.02/1.64 valves & 64 CC, with 2 Valve Flat Top Pistons 1.675 compression height. Howards Cam MC110991-08DL 221/221 & 470/470 with Lobe Separation 108° & Comp Cams 981-16 Valve Springs, Sanderson Shorty Header's 2 1/2" exhaust with zoomies & 2 1/2" pipe to back of bumper. 3.73 gear's, 26" tires, Muncie SM330 Standard 3 speed 1st gear ratio 2.85, Edelbrock C3BX Intake Manifold & Holley Carb 780 cfm with vacuum secondaries

What do you Chevrolet guys set them to?
