I have a '59 edsel ranger with a 292 in it and recently the engines been having trouble starting. I started the car fine and then it just randomly died after about 30 seconds. I tried starting it again and it started, but it wasn't running right at all, it seemed like it was skipping cylinders. So my first thought was the distributor. I replaced the old rotor (which was bent when I took it out) and I replaced the distributor cap. I started the car and it ran perfectly for about 30 seconds then died again. Now it's doing the same weird skipping cylinders thing. I'm at a loss now, what do you guys think? Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Replace the condenser. I chased that problem all over the engine compartment of my '60 T-bird and finally fixed it with a simple condenser change. It ran like someone mixed up the plug wires. For some reason that car ate 'em, I replaced it 3 times in the few years I owned it. Never could figure out why.
Well guys I just went and bought a new condenser, it was a huge pain to get the new one on but I got it on and the cars running smoothly now....thanks for the help! Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
