That's correct, I grafted the front end into the original 49 Divco frame, I have the disc brake setup to run up front to change it over, with a 9'' out back w/discs..............Thanks Littleman
I started this project before monster garage was on the air and I used the iron cross on everything. Now its over done, and I do not use it anymore , and it was before I discovered the Hamb...........I think I have enough pics to do a thread later. I have it pushed in the corner for now, until I am finished doing the final touches on the new garage additions and then straight to the Coupe........Littleman
Ya gotta get that done!!!!!!!!! I love them Divco's. I was so pissed that I got outbid on one of them Mattel ones that are hot rodded out. I love the rare and un-common old cars that are out there and guys like you that are seeing a vision and making good to them and better than sitting and rusting away in some field or worse to the scrap yard...god forbid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! KNUX!
did ya like the one I posted on last friday's art show ?? The guy who owns that one has one the size of yours he uses as a daily work truck in the summer.
fuckin killa I love these things. Heres a couple of shots of my buddys. Its clipped, diffed, and has all the comforts of home. Hes done a reallt nice job of it. Its his one and only daily driver.....Shiny
Wow, now that is going in a direction I like. Keep us posted. Stock, these things look like something from "Thomas the Train". I know nothing about these, what's the background?
Here, this is what I dug up.........Littleman I personally would not chop one, trust me I did at first, but after studying the whole body, voted against it. I felt it was already Kool, all you have to do is just study the body lines and all the gentle flowing curves of it, the thing just screams 1950's too me. I have seen a handful of chopped ones, and have not come across one where they actually made the whole thing better..The distance from the lower part of the body to the bottom of the windows is very tall, then you go and drop the roof, it just does not look right. I have even seen one chopped and sectioned, and it looked no better and had lost the Divco's presence or what you may call integrity or soul......but this is my opinion, I found myself respecting what was original as far as the body was concerned, I thought it was perfect right from the start and that does not happen much for me.......But if ya wanna chop one, go for it, do what you envision......If I found a chopped one, I would try to make it work..........Littleman
"I personally would not chop one, trust me I did at first, but after studying the whole body, voted against it. Littleman" I agree. I look at chopped pu's and other of certain years and wonder WTF were you thinking? Tall thru the body doesn't work. You will do it right and I can see you already are...when I get to build a Hot Rod? I will be imulating you and f' those that say "Littleman did that". I will very proudly say "hell yes he did!!!" DO NOT Armor All that tread plate!!! to be very clear? IMHO your attention to detail, welding and vision equal the best out there.
Was it rodded before? I mean "Big Daddy's Frozen Treats" just has such a cool sound to it. That's just too cool to paint over. I have David Lee Roth "Ice Cream Man" going in my head now.
It was a local neighbor hood ice cream truck long ago and before that a milk truck.............The letters really do look kool in person..................at one time I was going to put ''Littleman's poisoned ice cream'' in its place, but it may end up with a Tuck original Littleman's Speed and Fabrication logo? Who knows...............Littleman
I know where one of those things is just sitting. I have been trying for six years to get the old guy who owns it to loosen up and let me haul it away. He says...."...gonna fix it up some day...mabbe make a little camper out of it". Time is on my side.
Guy here in the Hudson Valley NY has a Pro Street type Divco. It's says Pro Milk on the sides. Very nasty truck
I am cracking up... I just wish I had seen this on Sundae. chuck Littleman, It looks tuff already. Can't wait to see it complete, chuck
