Here are a few photos of a project that I got for my step son. It was FREE. . I grafted a Bartered S-10 front clip and bartered 1/2 ton rearend. I clipped it right before the 8" or so Z. I bought a 78 Impala for $500 and drove it 75 miles home. I stripped the 350/350 combo, radiator, drive shaft, steering column, fuse box and complete wiring harness. I purchased a new Speedway master cylinder/booster/ pedal ***embly and got it mounted with no problem. I tried to keep the cost minimum and teach him skills. Well he lost interest fast when I was clearing junk, trash, sand and pulling the original running gear and suspension. This stuff was dirty and not fun for him. I was lovin it. It doesn't look pretty yet but in less than a month of work I have it moving under its own power, stopping and steering. All lights, locking steering, column shifter, neutral safety switch ,turn signals, cruise control and air already work. All new fuel and brake metal lines ran. The S-10 is a bit narrow but with the right off set wheels "All will be Great". Plans call for a bit taller front tires, fill all the bullet holes patch a few rust spot ( mainly lower back doors and roof above back doors) then take it all back apart, detail frame and suspension and undercoat the bottom of body. No idea yet on paint or wheels. O'yeah its mine now. His loss.
Nice score.... for free. I paid $1000 each for mine. I'm building a '59 model 134 with a Dodge truck front ch***is clip, 318/904. I also have a '65 300 and a '59 347.
So what year is it. I have the vin plate and have applied for a lost ***le. I just haven't research the numbers, so any ideas on year.
The Divco Club of America can ID the year and model from the VIN #. Join the Divco yahoo group and ask the knowledgeable Divco nuts there. That small early body style could be a model M, U, 11, or 15.
