  1. Kudos to saving another "Longy". I just ran across your post. It looks like you've got your work cut out for you. It's also great to see the younger generation getting interested in this hobby. Good luck to you. hang in there. "Rome wasn't built in a day." Getting it running/driving is a major accomplishment. Keep the pictures coming. Buick Caballero wagon is my all time favorite.

    I have the new master setup in. I got braided stainless lines to go from the master to the firewall, then bulkhead fittings to hard lines on the engine side going down to the frame and splitting front and back. I decided to run all new lines (again) because I didn't like how I did them the last time. I bought copper nickel lines and holy cow do they bend nicely; much better than steel. I would have finished the lines today but I ran out of clamps to hold the line to the frame; I thought I had a whole other bag of them but they turned out to be 1/2" instead of 3/16th. Tomorrow I will try tracking down more clamps. Anyone know of a good local source?

    Any chance you could post up some pics of the master setup? I plan on tackling mine soon.

    I personally would recommend not using a setup like this. It adds a lot of complication to the build. I've seen guys mount a plate where the air box (?) is on the drivers side and mount a master to that and run a standard swinging pedal; that would probably be the easiest route.

    I finished running the brake lines yesterday, today I hope to find a second person to help me bleed them. I may try a power bleeder....

    Also I put some gas in the gas tank (well a jug on the passengers side floor) and she started right up. I am amazed how well it runs for not being tuned at all.

    That's all for now;

    Big Update:

    I found a clean body, Its complete sans frame and drive train and I was able to negotiate a reasonable price for it. So, as much as it saddens me, I will be parting out my wagon body, keeping what I can, and scrapping the rest. I am not going to say the body was beyond saving but the amount of work it needs is significant. And the new body comes with a Oregon title so that will save me a lot of hassle. If anyone needs any parts from the body of my old wagon let me know and you can probably have it for the cost of shipping.

    I will post pictures once I have the new body.
