on my OT 68 falcon I pull the underdash handbrake all the way out, turn the steering wheel full lock and put a chain (covered in an old pushbike tub) through the spokes of the wheel and padlocked to the handbrake shaft.
Handbrake can't be released and the wheels are turned full lock, even if you could drag the rear wheels it isn't going to go straight.

  3. One of my current projects has an electrical kill switch, a fuel shut off and clutch pedal. If that fails I have good insurance

  4. If you have exhaust cutouts leave them open.

    A chain and a padlock.

But....then again....we just moved. At the new place, there was a padlock on the shed, but the bolt was not locked by the lock. The lock was in the way, so I spent about ten seconds with my cordless angle grinder, removing the padlock. It was a nice one, too.

If your car has a cigarette lighter. Had a 69 Roadrunner, factory 440 6 bbl lift of hood car. I disassembled the cigarette lighter and installed a push/pull switch and adapted the factory lighter knob.....Pull out for off and push in for on and wired it into my ignition coil....worked great and looked like a stock lighter.

Didn’t expect to get this many interesting responses. I like the hidden device ideas. Always thought it would be cool to have a hidden start switch or something

I had a similar issue with a PU I was working on, there were shelves on the back wall, truck wouldn't fit under, so bolted on wheels with no tires and backed it under the shelve/cabinets. Not sure if this is your situation or not.

I’m not a fan of the look, but “lay frame” and take the wheels off. That’ll slow down most attempts.

There’s a Utah repo guy on YouTube. Watch some of his videos showing just how fast a tow rig can move a car with an experienced operator.

There is no violence around here. Come in my driveway and start messing around unannounced. Then you will see violence of action.

That's pretty neat. I bought a car that had a solenoid activated hydraulic lock, like a line lock except it locked the brakes when no power was sent to it, and opened with power. When you hit the brakes and turned the key off it locked up the wheels, but by the next morning it would roll again. Maybe it leaked internally, don't know. I took it off.

The best answer is have your vehicles/property insured properly. I keep mine in a locked garaged and by choice live in a very low crime area. I grew up in the city, At 20 moved to suburbs then to the country to avoid the crime/bullshit that comes with city living. When I go to the big shows I always stay at motels that have security, have a "Kill" switch on ignition/electrical or fuel system, that's all you can do IMO. If a Pro thief wants what you have, he probably will be successful, most of what we do just stops kids and stupid thieves. By choice I do not live in a state of paranoia, but do pay attention in many areas to be aware and I believe in the use of my second amendment right. Merry Christmas to All !

When I had my ot car, I had a hidden toggle on the coil wire. But now my car is garaged and I leave the key in the ignition. I'm not sure but I don't think the vehicle not starting is a big deterrent for classic/antique car thieves, Besides, vehicle theft isn't a big thing here and I have the car insured so if it goes missing I get to go car shopping....

Most pro thieves don't want an old hot rod. They want a near new Honda Civic or Lexus.
I've parked my rod at hotels all across US and Canada. I still have it.
No violence this day. Peace, Love and Joy!
    Merry Christmas!!!

    Maybe it’s because I’m Canadian, but I couldn’t take a person’s life over a car.

If they want it bat bad I’ll collect from haggerty.
