dizzy for blown 302

    have a 4-71 to go on a 302

    anyone know the lowest distributor and cap arrangement i can use .


    using a truck efi lower with custom plate on top or mounting the blower.

    plate not made yet but want to keep it as low as possible.

    this is what its going in :)

    Mallory makes a crab cap for the 302 with a Roots style blower, I have one on mine works great.

    i guess you need to remove the blower to get the cap off ?

    I have seen one done on a 390 FE ford that used a matched set of bevel gears (some kind of right angle output shaft). The guy machined a block that used the lower portion of a distributor shaft and housing then turned it 90 degrees. This made the distributor rotate the wrong direction; but he wasn't running any vacuum advance; and did need to run his centrifugal advance upside down. I know I have some pictures somewhere....

    I haven't had to remove the blower to get to the cap in 7 years so its not that big of a deal. They do make an offset dist. but they look goofy IMO.
