El Caminos aren't that much of a truck. But, I'm retired, so it just goes to the hardware store and the nursery. The Model A RPU does, too.

In the 80s had a route selling cl*** 8 Truck Parts for a Freightliner/ Ford Dealership. Furnished my own vehicles...'81 Chevy 1/2t and later an '85 Ford F 150. Was paid car allowance and mileage...
During those years I also ran a '34 Ford P/U during nice weather and when my loads weren't to heavy.
***mins overhaul kits and cyl heads...SSHD rear Drop-in were probably the heaviest of the loads.
The '34 had a 283/ PG, 57 rear..buggy springs and hauled quite a few parts and pieces over the time I used it (2-3 years). Customers remembered that one for years, asking about it now and then.
Use to take it to the Truck Drags also as some of my customers would bring their Log Trucks to that..
Worked for me and wrote the baby off on taxes !! Scan_0014.jpg Scan_0012.jpg

Around 1980 or so my 77 Chevy half ton met with
    an unfortunate end. I replaced it with a 1956 F 100
canary yellow with us mag slots. It was 272 automatic,
purchased for the sum of $2500. I was operating a shrimp skiff at the time as well as working construction. The f-100 went in to service as a replacement for the Chevy. It hauled loads of shrimp as well as gear on a daily basis. It also navigated rough construction sites and hauled welding machines and steel as well. The only time it failed to proceed was when a starter drive broke. I hitched a ride to the parts house and a $5 dollar part had it going. It never had a
motion defeating failure until its retirement, nearly 10
years later. Great totally rugged vehicle!
