Fab 32, the Sea Hag is my dud. Haven't you heard? I failed miserably on the taillights that I used. Oh well, I had them on the shelf. ha ha ha I don't take a whole lot of credit on the Tommi Gunn either, The styling and what to cut was my idea, it was all done in my garage and I did some of the work, but Valentine did most of it. I was building the lander right next to it at the time.

Wildwilly, dropping that plastic motor will be a WHOLE lot cheaper that dropping the real one. Ha Ha Ha

As for my "day Job", I reckon I am a jack of all trades, but I am called an "Agronomist". Right now I am making Corn and Bean yield maps, tomorrow I might be out delivering seed or driving a truck, in the spring I may be piloting a sprayer, in the summer I walk fields looking for bugs and weeds and make soil maps of where to spread fertilizer. In the fall I make sure all of the satellite equipment is working in our dry fertilizer machines and give them daily uploads of the newest jobs to do.

I usually put in a good 4 hours every night in my garage and I work 12-16 hour days in the garage on the weekends that I have off from my "real" job. As for what my wife thinks, it is better than sitting in a bar all night swilling down $2.50 beers isn't it? Besides, she gets the remote if I am not in the house! Sometimes I do get home from work and just lay on the couch and watch TV and scratch myself.

The cisco kid taught me that if you go out to the garage and do 3 things a night that eventually you will run out of things to do. I don't see how people can NOT do anything when they have a huge pile of parts laying there. I don't exactly live a healthy lifestyle, I like Cheeseburgers and beer, a lot. I will probably be dead at 50 from a coronary so I want to do as much as I can while I still can.

I wish I was half as good as everyone thinks I am. I just make it all up as I go along. Ha Ha Ha ......I still don't know how to time a motor. I will have to have a buddy come over and get the hag running for me. Ha Ha Ha

 

I am not sure about the air thing, I don't know how to pull it off on an open engine car.

But I kind of like the "Atomic Punk"

The frame looks good Ill take some pics of it in the next day or two. For some reason it is in my garage and my coupe is setting outside, Im not going to post pictures of the ass crack you will just have to hang out with us this summer and see it yourself. The bubble is looking good and the front frame rails are going to look awesome with all that shiny stuff hanging out there.

I believe, though I am not entirely sure, that toyota prius hybrids have an electric a/c compressor... that, if it exists, would be the way to pull it of on an open engine.. will probably take a hell of an alternator to run it though, if it even runs on 12 volt.

the bubbletop, along with the rest of your cars, is already amazing. I wish I had one tenth the drive to get out in the garage as you do, though, you just motivated me to go out right now, so thanks for that!

I showed up Saturday afternoon to pick up some parts being relayed to me, and ended up hanging out and sort of helping on Jimmy's chassis. Had a blast!

I had my camera, extra batteries and a 1 meg SD card so I could take pics .................. and here is what I got:



Yup, that's the pic I took! Plowboy's place is really easy to find, just cruise through the cornfields until you come to the place with all the cool shit outside the garage! Last time I was there, it was the Lander and the Spacetruck.

If I had the $$$$, the Tommi Gun would have a new home - hell, I'm close enough Should have scraped together my pennies and bought that Buick in the shed before someone else got to it too!

Funniest thing about Saturday, for me? I got a Model A chassis I should be building ................... and I spend my one day off out of 2 weeks helping build a frame for someone else's A

I will have to check out the toyota hybrid thing. Interesting. I don't think running it off of the driveshaft would work because while you were cruising the grounds at low idle, I don't think the compressor would spin fast enough. I will have to ask the Cisco Kid. He works on that stuff often enough to find out.

Wanted to reply to the thoughts about the hybrid A/C compressor. Don't think this would be a good fit for you. True, it does run off of about 8V input, but it has an internal inverter that steps up to 244V. Due to that amount of current draw, the input amperage comes from the HV (high voltage) battery in the hybrid system and NOT the 12V battery that runs the other (lower draw) systems. Hope this helps.
