I have a stock Mustang 2 front end on a 48 Chevy Pickup that looks like it will need to be lowered some. I know I can go with drop spindles but thought there might be drop springs avaliable. This front end has been converted to a GM bolt pattern and was told GM brake setup. I have not really looked that close. Just looking for all lowering options and where to get the parts. Thanks

I would buy the spindles, then you would still have good suspension travel.

What springs are in it??? 4cyl, 6cyl,or 8cyl,more than likely on a pickup 8cyl springs so you may try to swap in 6er springs or cut some coils off! How low are you looking to go??-Paul

What he said. If you are using 8 cyl. springs they are too stiff. I have a Mustang II in my 47 panel and it has a 455 Buick in it and it sits just right with 6 cyl. springs. I did have dropped spindles also but had to change back because it was too low. Try the 6 cyl. springs and see what happens.

I don't know what engine was in the Mustang, the front end was on the frame when I got it. I will wait and see how it looks when all assembled with engine and all. I have my cart a little ahead of the horse, but the engine will have to bring it down quite a bit. I am looking for a nice drivable low look. I would be interested in seeing some pictures of the pickup with the 6 cyl springs. Thanks

Also another thing to consider is, if they are new springs they WILL settle at least an inch to 2 or more once weight is on them and driving it will help this along!

  8. How is the ride now? If you can tolerate a bit stiffer, then just cut the springs half or full coil. Costs nothing. But it will get stiffer a bit.

Dropped spindles are the best solution to maintain full travel. The spindle is the same regardless what rotors you have on them. Mustang II is all the same.

  9. speedway motors got some chrome 11" springs

Cool panel. I could live with that stance. The truck is not yet drivable so I don't know the ride yet. I want it low and drivable without airbags. Thanks
