I kept the halo that was screwed to my head when I broke my fool neck. Thought the carbon fiber rods and adjustable joints might work for an indicator mount on the lathe.

Oh yeah! and not just mine. I have blunders off of every **** box I have ever worked on. From my bent 312 push rods to a twisted connecting rod out of a hydrolocked 5.7l hemi. I make art out of dammaged parts I r&r take a look on my page! No mising body parts yet thow.

  3. yep i have a few- a rod and piston out of an old ute that was "surposedly rebuild", and it exited the block in two pieces, some other pistons that are nuked. a truck tailshaft that is wrapped around four times- not enough air to the brakes- looks like a lolly wrapper. other bit and pieces i or others have stuffed. I also have lots of scars to remind me for life.

Sure, they sewed that finger back on. 15 s***ches and he was as good as new. My favorite one, middle right!

  5. Got some decent scars but never kept any of the broken parts. The only thing I have kept is a little odd. Its a 7.62mm projectile, fired at me when I was serving in the Middle East. I was laying in some dead ground while we were in a contact, something skipped across the sand in front of me. It was the round, I was always going to drill it and wear it on my dog tags but I never did.

    Doc.

I'm keeping the pin from the fire extinguisher I used to put out the fire in my engine compartment. Had just got done rewiring EVERYTHING, when I went to fire it up the Rochester was leaking fuel like crazy. A little spark and I had a BIG fire. Mind you...this was while I had my wife out to see what I had gotten done that day. Thought I was going to impress her. Instead, I get a warning not to burn the house down every time I go out to the garage.

I have a good friend who while starting his top fuel car at a night race at maple grove cut his right index finger off about half way up.it was cut off by the blower belt,he wrapped it up in a red rag-watched the run and then went to have it looked at.the next morning they were tearing down the engine (dnq) and found the remaining part of the finger on the galley plate between the blower and engine.he retreived it ,put it in a small jar with some alcohol and still has it to this day todd

Kinda forgot about the 50 caliber round out of a ****y trap I did a bellyflop on in Viet Nam. 40 days and a wakeup. Made a short timers stick out of the 50 and the primer tube from a 105.

I keep carnage trophies, generally ridiculously destroyed parts, twisted/broken connecting rods are always good conversation pieces.
