While researching a book project, I've come across these two wagons and can't find any info on either of them. So in desperation, I'm posting this plea for help. Anyone know these cars? Contact info would be deluxe, but I'll be grateful for whatever info I can find. Maybe I should just have these images put on milk cartons? Thanks in advance for any help on this deal. Scotty
By the way, I can't seem to resize the early style (bottom) pic. If anyone has a better shot of this car, I'd love to see it. Thanks, Scotty
seems like the bottom one started out in arizona without the lettering back in what....01 02...? it was on ebay a couple times. can't think of who owned it and had it lettered up....
So that one's had a high turnover of owners, eh? The plot thickens... Thanks, Chopt! Personally, I like vinyl - it comes off easier than paint.
Bow down Scotty: Ray Bernard gets plenty of air as he launches his new supercharged '57 Chevrolet Nomad downtrack during a recent test session at Queensland's Willowbank Raceway. That there is an Aussie car..........ask them or if you're REAL nice *ha*, I'll give you a link to their version of the HAMB and I'm sure you'll get everything you need there.
Not familiar with either one but the bottom one looks like a 'glass 1-piece body with either painted on(or possibly vinyl)side trim, bumper, and headlamps.I remember a black 57 hardtop awhile back that Kenny Youngblood painted on ALL the trim(including bumpers)and it was super realistic. EDIT:The second pic of the car kind of dispels that theory.Serious vehicle.
Brandy! Thanks! Mystery solved. But I'll have to scratch the Nomad: The book is subtitled, "America's coolest wagons", so it's gotta be from here... damn. On a similar note, I'm having trouble contacing Todd Shepard, of Warpig/Hemiwagon fame. Anyone? PM me, please. Safariknut: Are you thinking of The Assassin '57? Severely chopped, with injectors sticking up through the hood? It runs here at my home track sometimes - what a cool car! Anyone else on the '57 wagon?
Can we get a bigger picture of it? Or do you just want to send me what you have and MAYBE I can resize it to something larger than a postage stamp?
Thanks Brandy - I could use your help. Maybe if people could actually see the car, they could I.D. it! PM'd you.
Yeah, I think it's a 150. Guess it wasn't meant to be. I'm starting to suspect it's a pretend race car anyway. I have other wagons to find. Thanks to everyone who checked it out! Scotty
Okay, one last pass, before I pull the plug on the straight axle '57. Anyone know how to contact Todd Shepard? He had the black 60's Mopar wagon known as Hemi Wagon, then sold it and the new owner calls it War Pig. Anyone? Beuller?
You might try the guy who used to put out the magazine,"Wagons of Steel".Can't recall his name offhand but he was located in Vashon WA.I have his contact info in the shop;I'll dig it out as soon as I can and send you a PM. Don't recall the Assassin;sounds like a pretty wild setup.
try over on www.yellowbullet.com in the forums.... wiz-bang chassis is his shop.... a couple shots of the car.... brandon http://www.vfnfiberglass.com/Page14.html and the straight axle chopped up 57 was owned by someone named tony from he east coast best i remember..... hemitony sound right?
Safariknut: Thanks. I'm in touch with the Wagons of Steel guys. Will ask them about it. The Assassin is a 2-dr hardtop (not a wagon) - it's hauls ass (low 9's) and looks great!
BBMopar: No sir, haven't seen that '55 before. It's pretty zowie. Gotta stick with American ones though.
Al: Very cool that you still have your first car! I've lusted for a silver/black '56 2dr wagon my whole life. You're livin' my dream! Congrats.
