Yes, I read the Wanted Adds. Hoping somebody neds the parts I have. Makes it easier and saves time. Don't change i.
Yeah I check it out probably once a day if not more often...depends on how much other stuff I have to put off. The only thing that bothers me about "wanted" sections (and I'll offer this up front, I haven't seen it on the HAMB yet) is that many times it ends up being an ***-backwards auction...and most of the time the guy who posted never buys what's offered anyway. If a guy really needs something then he should jump on an offer, especially on the HAMB where most folks are happy to p*** on a part or two to a fellow HAMBer in need. Just my .02 ...
Yes, I read both the "wanted" and the "for sale" sections. Not everyday, but frequently. Soooo, I guess it doesn't really matter to me where the ads appear. I'll find them if I'm interested enough.
Nope, I think to myself on an almost daily basis hey I've got some junk to get rid of I should look in the wanted ads but never end up making it there. Primo
I was reluctant to bump my want ad to the top as I think it uses resourses, but it fell way down the rat hole and the wheels for the 15oz Coupe are the think that's holding the car up from running. I do look at both, but not really often. My wife thinks I spend way too much time on the 'puter anyway.
Yes! I look at them every day. Never know when you can help out a fellow rodder. I like the ads the way they are now.
yeah i check it out every now and then. If I see that it is someone I know, then I try to keep my eye open at the next sale for them. tok
kinda off the subject but related hey ryan fng here what if you could catagorize the wanted and for sale sections into either models, parts, years, accesories, etc. so its not too difficult for fellow hambers to find what they want or what they wanna sell so you would get more use out of the features. just a thought or maybe the sun is beating down too much on my head. phoenix is getting hottttt!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nope. I never read them. I do read the for sale ads. If I had something for sale, I'd feel that it was the responsibility of the "want" guy to contact me if I had what he wanted, not the other way around. I can see the value of keeping the two separate, but it greatly benefits the "for sale" ads and means the "want" ads go unchecked.
I read the for sale section first, then the wanted, then if I have time, which I don't have much of anymore, I read the general discussion section. I have helped a couple of folks out since this went to the new format, I give **** away if it's not worth a lot or I do not need it and I sell some stuff. I like the new setup, easy & quick.
I read it about half as often as the for sale ads, maybe a bit less than that. What I have observed is that many people are looking for the same things. Lots of demand for 5 spoke wheels right now. Being able to see trends is good IMO. There is a certain percentage of rare, impossible to find stuff wanted and the ads seem an affort to cover all possible venues just in case. A certain percentage are looking to get something for nothing especially when some of the items wanted are available new, not too costly or rare. I have to resist saying something suggesting they could get exactly what they want in perfect condition if they weren't such a tight-***. Due to the nature of my own projects I don't often have what is wanted. More than once I have answered a wanted and recieved no response. Aknowledgement would be helpful. I like having offered and wanted separated. Sometimes I avoid the wanted because of the neediness. The psychic energy makes me writhe! It's trippy, man!
I read them both,,,,and as I recall,,,most people wanted the ads listed in different areas,,,,, What the boss wants to do is fine with me!HRP
I check the "wanteds" on oc***ion - but only when I'm pretty bored, and even then, I don't go past the first couple pages. I liked it better when it was all one list. You could move through it a lot faster - easy to scan past "wanted" items you didn't have, but every now and then something would be brought to mind I hadn't really thought about selling, or I'd be reminded of something a friend had on hand, and could p*** the request on to him. Also, the old list had more "color" and "character" (someone referred to it as "grease"). I enjoyed that. The two seperate lists seems a bit sterile as they are now. I've tried the "wanteds" a few times and never got any response. I vote to go back to the original set-up.
i seldom look at the wanted section. when it was together i wanted them seperated; now i sorta wish they were back together. actually i can live with whatever we get and be happy with it.
90 percent of the time that I check the For Sale, I also check the Wanted. The 10 percent of the time I don't, it's either a matter of limited time, or I got too tired, or just forgot. But I do check. I like it the way it is.
I do, and have moved parts, doing so. I read the sale stuff more often, since I am in more of a need to buy, than sell. I do like it there. If I happen to have something someone wants, BINGO.
I haven't read the wanted ads since they were splitup, but I LOVE the way that you can see the description and the cost right in the listingg, rather than having to click on it and read through it. I should start going thru the want ads...
I would like to suggest that the "location" be listed in the wanted ads just like it is in the for sale ads. That would be helpful to know, especially when people are asking for generic stuff, like a nonspecific car or engine.
I liked it better with them combined. Now, with the newer format for placing ads I think it helps to distinguish them better so maybe the best of both together? I am not sure but wasn't it two changes right close to the same time. Did it go over center? All that said I used to read them all when looking for sale stuff and if I had something for the wanted guys it helped them and me at the same time. I think we lost the Hamb'ers helping Hamb'ers uniqueness (not sure if thats a word but it is now) part of the site. I defer to you Boss for the final answer. Your board, your rules.
I like it better separated. I have had some success in both sections. Sometimes I have noticed that someone will post something for sale, and there are some want ads posted for the same part; a definite disconnect. It's all a matter of courtesy and wanting to help another HAMBr out.
There's a wanted section HAHA actually I seldom look there. BUT....I'm constantly looking at the for sale add cl***ified section.
Ditto. I'm probably just lazy, but I only get to them once in awhile. Combined, I think I look at them a lot more. Craig
I look at both almost everyday... I never know what someone might need that I have laying around, and visa-versa... it's a sick sick sick habit!
...and I would think that somebody "wanting" a part would check the "for sale" ads first before posting.................. but that would be too easy
I look at the wanted ads, but I never have anything anyone's looking for. I have posted an ad in there and only recieved one response. Honestly, I too liked it better when it was all merged together...
I never go to the wanted ads now. For me it was easier to read when each seller/buyer item only took up one line, ie the Selling (Wanting), Location, Price and Member name were 'underneath" the ***le. It was faster to scan. If you are interested, then that neat little deal of just resting your curser on the ***le lets you know a bit more quickly.
