kinda see what you are trying to do, but i dont thinkthat will add much to the diagonial your still gonna have torsional twist as the mounting points at tube and crossmember are far away from each other and in straight lines back

All you have accomplished so far is to duplicate the
    origional frame further inboard.

Tie the tubes into the frame for starters. Not just a
plate paralell to the frame but a plate perpendicular to
the frame at full frame height tapered to the tube.

If you can fit diagonal crssmembers in there you will
stiffen it up quite a bit.

    hi flt-blk
do you mean plate from chassis to the tube to make a kind of big box section ,was thinking of puting some smaller dia. tubing as diaganals from intube to chassis ,
also somthing i forgot to mention is the car is going to have a basic gage fitted{the rods prime perpuse is to haule my 2 kids and wife to rod runs and stuff}so im hopping that this will stiffen the chassis ,not wanting to build nascar kind of thing but the people who drive on uk`s roads i like a bit of added steel ,cheers for the feed back
    regards keith

Don't be too discouraged. We've all tacked in way more steel than we've left in the car. Start by cutting out everything you've put in, buy a book and start over. Be clear on this, I'm not giving you shit for your effort. I would though if it was the finished product. Good Luck, dirty dug

I was thinking a couple of gussets like these along the length of the tube.

It would be even better if you could run some long diagonals from front to back.
